The game is currently not working after patch 2.0.4. There is a risk of destroying the graphics card! Ryzen 9 a RTX 4090

Did I say anything about it being “Dangerous”? I’m well aware of the demands from current AAA games and the “safe” thresholds for my hardware. HOWEVER when the game is randomly turning my room into an oven, I DON’T like that. Especially when it was never creeping near these temps before. I usually hover around 60c on the card when playing this game. To jump up to and over 85c from 60c is a MASSIVE jump. Please stop white knighting.

Explanations aside…

Bottom line is, the GPU and CPU is going to have more demand right now, if you don’t change any other settings after Blizzard went and disabled both Frame Gen and now DLSS.

So those running nVidia cards are going to feel it.

The only options you have? Adjust your settings back:

  • Lower the FPS or cap it to a lower setting. (I have been running 100FPS as a cap all year)
  • Turn off the frills. → Ray Tracing, Peripheral Lighting, Distortion, Chromatic Aberration.
  • Drop some of the quality settings. Depending on your card you may want to drop down from Ultra.

Please note, this is at least till they straighten out whatever it is that was broke. Which is hopefully soon.

Other option would be to stop playing till they fix it, if you are really worried about heat and stress.

I was not aware that these had been disabled.

To reiterate. I’m NOT worried, concerned, scared, whatever you want to call it. It’s just frustrating.
