The expansion destroys my previous progress

This is unbelievable. The expansion I’ve been waiting for so long and payed for so much just destroys all my previous progress, all chars and items that i invested so much time and effort in…

It was annoying last time when the the items became “legacy”, but at least they kept the character functional. But now everything is changed: i spent so much time making my builds and now I have to go all from the beginning.

My opinion: if you want to add new features, characters and mechanics - go on with it, but let me keep my efforts, let me keep the old ones!

I hate this. Will switch to diablo 2 again.

are you talking about the legacy mode? because in normal mode (seasons) i dont have such issue (apart from myriad others like dc, stattering, memory leaks etc)

Yeah all gear got squashed to item power 500 I think. The new max is 800 ip and can only be earned in Torment 1 after doing a Pit 20. Otherwise the highest you can get from Penitent is 750 now, but you can’t earn Ancestral lower than Torment.

This is the post you make when you dont follow along with the game updates. :man_facepalming:

Updates never mention all your gear getting slapped with the legacy label.

There’s thousands of people waking up today and seeing all their gear turned to junk again.

I read the patch notes but couldn’t find any info relating to gear being reworked to the point where everything is broken and needs thrown away. Can you or anyone else please specify where in the patch notes it says anything about this? Thanks.

Old items stats and new ones dont match. Did you expect to run around with super items?

Oh no plz just play another franchise altogether trust me chief no one and I really mean no one will ever miss you.

I’ll miss OP.

There is no good argument for the Legacy label. It’s super lazy.

Why can’t they leave items the same in eternal realm?

Guys, cmon, I can fully understand if they add something, make chenges in mechanics etc. But I want time and effort investment back. I want my end game characters to keep alive and able to kill some bosses. Now I have paragon gone, gear is legacy, damage is 500 instead of million and so fourth. This is the biggest disappointment ever and I even cant roll back, I even cant delete this extension and have my old d4 world back again.

Sorry for being emotional. Its just…

I assumed that would be the case, given the level squish, the changes to gear levels and items, and the addition of more difficulty tiers. Seemed common sense.

Stats could have been squished to the new max per IP. It did NOT need to be changed to “legacy” items which do NOT allow for tempering or master working. It is NOT the stats squish that is the real problem. Making our mythics useless is the problem.

So it’s pretty much the same as every game expansion ever.

No other Diablo franchise has ever done this…no sure what games you have been playing but we are playing Diablo…

So your only example is two decades plus old games where online was a secondary feature.

Either way, suck it up buttercup.
