The Entire Case for Paladin coming in S11 🛡

Nice summary Urza! I am personally convinced, but obviously some people will only believe it when they see it… Anyway, we will know soon enough

My opinion on how it would play out if it was coming this season. To me, that would mean the expansion is right around the corner. They would announce it at say the game rewards or something like that. Then they would tell you that you can preorder right now and if you preorder the $120 addition, you can start playing the new class immediately.

My opinion on this may or may not be from some special surveys that I may or may not have been a part of. Questions about this may or may not have been part of the surveys which may have or have not existed.

$120.00’s??

Ga DANG!! :eyes:

That Cinematic Trailer (Which you know they are gonna show, better be 10x’s better then VoH cause that is a lot of money…. :grimacing:

And for THAT price, we better dang well have the paladin and all the Fixens too! lol

The pre-order Vessel of Hatred expansion prices were $39.99 for the Standard Edition, $59.99 for the Deluxe Edition and $89.99 for the Ultimate Edition. Even if they increase a bit their prices, I do not see them going above $99.99 for the most expensive one… but I could be wrong of course.

And notice… playable, internal, full-featured SB builds were probably around for months. Definitely weren’t ‘early access’ for anyone. You just got a litter & some bling.

But a year later, people are conditioned to think paying a little extra will give you ‘early access’ to the next class? If there were at least a history of the studio doing that… but there’s not. It’s stupid. Can’t rule it out, but it’s still stupid. And it would backfire in a hilarious way.

No one sane at Blizzard is thinking like this. If the new class is releasing, it releases for everyone for free, or it releases for everyone as a “class DLC” fee (no entitlement to an expansion), or it doesn’t release but is merely announced. Otherwise the gd expansion itself (w/ new class) is releasing. Which ofc it isn’t, because that would be crazy. :eyes:

Playing Devil’s Advocate… the class will have been getting worked on for a long time under the current skill tree system. It’s fairly recent that they confirmed they want to review the skill tree and gave absolutely no timeline. I don’t think they even mentioned it being in the next expansion, more in the vague category of “We want to do this at some point and we’re looking into it” from what I recall.

So yes, if they have a class ready to go under the current system there’s no reason not to release it (either as preorder or separate paid DLC) and then it gets changed if/when the skill system gets revised.

Still, I think the most we can reasonably expect is some cosmetic with S11 if we preorder. Maybe Wings? That would fit with the season.

That said, if they do plan to significantly change the skill system relatively soon (like in 3-6 months with XP2) then I agree releasing the class early would be a waste of time. Meaning the time spent getting it releasable would have been wasted.

so as i mention on other sites/forums a few times, i doubt we will get a stealth drop of a new class base off a few things.

  1. flail = mace on a chain just a new look they wanted to expirement.
  2. the pet showing 7 classes = beta build could be a bug.
  3. blizzard track record = stealth droping new class with out teasing something new first. not there. did they drop a pet for everyone yeah but i beleve after it was shown for the next expansion and after preorders.
  4. blizzcon 26 is coming up they need a hype build up for that and something for that so makes more sense to have something for new class/expansion for that over a new season.

will i be happy if they did yeah. am i hype for it nope. i wonder how bad the forums will be after game awards.

Would be really cool if it was called Horadric Knight, part of the secretive group of Horadrim that chased after Prime Evils at one point in time.

I want the Horadric Burger Flipper class. It’s been long foreshadowed.

I hope for everyone’s sake getting hyped up that you’re right. Because if you’re wrong, oof it’s going to be the biggest D4 letdown to date.

yup, if it failed to deliver Paladin in S11, it will be recorded in history, written inside blockchain as the gaming industry’s laughing stock for eternity.

its TBTF now.

Really has everyone forgot “Everyone’s got a phone”?

There is absolutely NO WAY IN ALL THE HELLS that Blizzard would ever, ever EVER release a whole class for free.

No way in hell. It’s not even remotely possible.

And if I’m wrong, I’ll eat a booger.

correct, it is listed as 488 ‘party bundle’ and 888 ‘family bucket’ in china.
while pricing for the rest of the world probably would be after the game awards.

meanwhile, GGG out here releasing the absolute best version of a Druid ever created in any game for free at the same time.

things like spraying oil onto a surface and clapping the (Wyven) wings to fan wind into fire to buff its damage are so basic and fundamental common sense, but when PoE2 devs put these into the game, OMG, its straight up improvement and so medieval!

It wouldn’t surprise me if they did early access for a class, last expansion was early access for the pet, wow did early access for player housing, it makes no sense to delay the start of the season for an announcement unless its something that will impact the season. I cant speak for the rest of you but a paladin would be enough for me to be playing diablo 4 over poe 2’s druid .

It wont necessarily be that price. There may or may not have been a bunch of options on a survey that may or may not have existed. Early access to a new class also may or may not have been the only thing that you might get early access to in a survey that may or may not have existed as well

If anything, it’ll probably just be an announcement. Honestly makes no business and marketing sense to add a new class to a Season. Might be a pre-lude to the expansion/Paladin class.

Plus I don’t believe Blizzard has EVER added a new class and not made us pay for it.
