Where might I find info on these example glyphs?
And then there’s the Skill Tree
post 16, here on this topic.
I posted a video, that shows it. 2:37
Ah looks like i didn’t quite remember the 175/175 correct. It was on a rare node rather than the glyph. That was from a developer update.
Diablo IV Quarterly Update—December 2021 — Diablo IV — Blizzard News
The glyph with int on it was from the dataminers, https://lothrik.github.io/diablo4-build-calc/database/)
and https://diablo4.cc/us/ParagonGlyph
Holy ****. They are all literally just conditional % increases damage, % damage reduction, and conditional resource gain… Wow… I’m… I’m speechless. I’m floored by the absolute mundanity.
I do see the part about affecting other nodes in range… But it’s all literally % damage increases.
No creativity whatsoever.
Wow…
Other than +5 main stat, what else does it have? Rotating design to make it look complicated but lacks substance.
You have no idea what the board has on it…
Did you click the links and watch the video?
I am well versed in the videos and links… my response was to the OP…
Sorry, getting used to this forum’s UI and editing tools. Hopefully you can see why I might have been mistaken.
Yea sucks that it doesn’t auto quote when you reply specifically to that post
Hey!
I played with the Closed Beta in November, I didn’t like few things in the game but I can tell you, Paragon system and Paragon Boards one of the best idea in the game. Only need a little amount of time to learn, but it’s easy.
FYI you can’t announce that, even saying you were in it is against the NDA
Does Blizzard even care anymore they do not even enforce this.
"PLEASE NOTE: A valid Diablo IV key linked to your Battle.net account is required to post in this category. Additionally, users who troll, harass, or try to incite nonconstructive discourse will be suspended from this forum."
I only explored the 8 Barbarian boards in the calculator.
There are nodes for bleed, Berserk, Strength, Dex, Int & Willp, Damage reduction, increased damage conditional. extra healing, Armor, Life, Life%, resistances, fortify, overpower. Probably others I do not remember.
Yellow nodes are similar to a yellow drop, blue nodes give you larger numeric value.
Each board has a socket (glyph) and a legendary effect. These two are generally on opposite sides, so you will be pressed to do both on any single board.
NDA’s are a bit more legally important to enforce than random forum rules
Necro golem takes up a skill slot , the druids doesnt , and the druid picks more then 1
It’s that second sentence that is baffling because the first sentence clearly shows you understand the fact free to play games aren’t actually free. It also shows that you understand free to play games can be significantly more expensive. I’d also safely assume if you’ve spent that much on POE then you’ve spent quite a bit of time on POE and therefore know that to have a pleasant experience in POE you’re going to have to pay some money.
So why this continuing idea of equating quality with “charging”. Both business models can generate good and bad games.
You have speacial Glyphs in the D4 Paragon tree that need certain attribute thresholds. We can’t tell how high they are because there were only shown a few over time and both only needed under 200 in 2 attributes.
Then again Paragon is some form of extanded invetory and skilltree so at the end of the calculation Poe Passive Tree = D4 Passive Tree. not by ammount or shape but in functionalty but in D4 Items, skills and Paragon works diferent as PoEs Items and gems but at the end of the day both game systems do the same thing.
D4 has kind of clusters as well. There are different kind of nodes and these nodes have spefic bonuses to specific stats arround them. So there might be a “Dmg vs vulnerable targets” node with surrounding minor nodes. These are nothing different then a cluster that improves AoE size and dmg.
There are nodes that are equaly powerfull as legendary aspects. If you are displeased with legendary aspects you should avoid D4 alltogheter because a big part of the game involves said aspects. Oh and BtW they are equaly powerfull in D4 like special key nodes in PoE. Just a reminder both systems have differences and that’s why you have other bonuses in D4 then in PoE… thank god ^^.
The education system here is quite fine and if you are from the USA yours could learn a lot but that’s just a side note on an unnessesary sentence you most likely put in there to cover up that you have zero plan about the topic and only watched Blizzards totaly useless and bad presentation of the Paragon Tree.
All trees are the same for all classes and only the important nodes change (give or take) and going one way with a mage to get most Int possible is something different to a Barb who wants Str or a Rogue who wants dex. An actual Pob style builder would be nice to minmax because I’d rather have 20 points more str on my barb then 20 points of another attribute that are less usefull to me. Is it complicated? No and neither is PoE but it’s a big QoL for lazy people.
You always need 20 steps to the unique node in each Paragon tree. Depending on how may of these you want and where other important node clusters are for you your 220 points are most likely gone in three boards.
1200hrs according to Steam, not counting the beta hrs, because it wasn’t on Steam, yet.
The idea was more that PoE didn’t have to charge because it was a good game. They received $2.2 million in crowdfunding because of their beta.
Yes, both models can generate good and bad games, but I think Blizzard charging for D4, on top of season passes, and who knows what else MTX, shows they don’t have faith in their product and are looking for that upfront cash grab.
Overwatch initially had a purchase price, then went F2P. Now OW2 has aggressively pushed their MTX into season passes. Why? Players lost interest, stopped buying MTX coins. Game was stale and the little improvements and additions they were doing was underwhelming.
Make a good game, continue to support it, and players will continue to support it in turn.
2.2 million in capital doesn’t buy Blizzard a ham sandwich for everyone. It’s a publically traded company of thousands.
Crowd funding has been a boon to many industries, especially things like video games and board games. It has allowed a lot of projects to be made that would have had trouble securing the funding otherwise. It’s not a one size fit all thing, though.
It’s also very disingenuous on your part to keep pretending POE is some charity scheme. Almost everyone playing is going to buy at least QOL features like stash tabs and at that point they effectively are buying a full price game. Earlier I gave you the benefit of the doubt by assuming you just didn’t know how free to play games monetize in this manner, but since you very clearly do, it just comes off as a dishonest attempt to slight Blizzard.
