So my experiences with Pit Groups are that there's usually one or two peeps in the group that die at least once, if not more. You're wasting everybody else's time in the group when you do die, as this is less Glyph upgrades for the group when this happens. If you die multiple times, and the group runs out of time, well then you have completely wasted everybody's time.
Below are some very basic requirements to run the pit w/o being dead weight:
- Have a decent build (Paragon boards, Glyphs, skill points, Paragon points, & gear that all work synergistically towards your build).
- Have your gear thoughtfully master crafted & maxed out at 12/12 for every piece.
- Have at least 200 Paragon points, if not more.
- Be using Elixir of Fortitude II & Reddamine Buzz for both your survivability as well as your group mates’.
- Pay attention and go where everybody else in the group is going so that all four of you can quickly DPS groups of mobs down quickly so you can efficiently clear the zone W/O deaths.
BTW, my Glyphs are currently all sitting at 90 & I’ve yet to die in the Pit once. I figured I’d type this as there’s no Pit groups worth joining ATM (2:47PM). Another 10 levels to go! LOL I may not make another toon this season as the Pit groups have been even worse than normal. Not sure I can do the slog a second time this season. Rant/constructive criticism over.
So who decides “thoughtfully master crafted”?
Why not just require them to put their build on MaxRoll or other build site; give you the link so you can review and approve who joins?
I die if i am not the one pulling/attacking and if mobs have more health than usual.
I don’t do pit in group ever, it’s more problem than it’s worth

Thoughtfully mastercrafted is rerolling when you’re already maxed at run speed & your next master craft upgrade is to run speed, etc. Your thinly veiled sarcasm adds no value to this thread.
start your own groups in discord then? Or just do pits solo. You cant control random people joining groups.

If somebody with less than 200 Paragon points joins the group, I drop from the group. I’ve learned that it’s not worth staying.
If you’re going to pug, don’t complain about what you get. That goes from team PVP to PVE from small 3-4 man stuff all the way to massive raids.
Build your own team, join another, or deal with what you get.
Almost guarantee you the people you’re worrying about are never going to be on this forum anyway.
You’re right, but I don’t have a regular crew I run with. I’m currently looking for groups doing level 90+ Pit runs. I then look to see if everybody is above 200 Paragon points. I join the group if these two basic things are met. I just had time to waste when I started this thread. If I even change one person’s approach to running the pit, then the 10min wasn’t wasted.
This is “your” opinion of thoughtfully master crafted; it is not the opinion of everyone playing.
If you were aware of this, you won’t of thought my comment as sarcasm; but in reality the only way to know those joining you are thinking like you.
To be fair, part of the problem stems from the fact that the game wants to encourage grouped and shared content but has basically zero community building features. If you don’t know someone irl or from another game or service you’re unlikely to get a premade together.
I have one person irl that plays this and they’re the only person I group with. Did some boss rotations in the past with randoms but not much point putting up with other people anymore since now none of the drops are worth the extra hassle anyway.
I bet you’re one of those peeps that dies three or four times in a Pit group, & now you’re B*tthurt from my comments.
I’d wager most people dont group for pits except those that need help…everyone else just clears them in 5 minutes solo. If grouping actually gave you extra glyph levels maybe people would group more.

Thanks, now you have me laughing…
Two rules I have to making my feelings hurt
- First you have to know me
- Second you have to find someone who cares about your opinion
Many meet rule one; an extreme few hit rule two…
Finally, I DO NOT play in open groups; only people who have met rule one…
That’s actually a really good point. What does grouping for pits actually get you? The monsters don’t drop gold or loot, the XP is negligible (I think the majority is just from clearing it and I’m not sure you get a bonus.)
Realistically a pit is just a dps and not standing in crap check, so out of a group, someone is always going to be weaker than someone else, which will cause the pit to be more difficult overall due to enemy scaling (unless they are close in output and I misunderstand how group scaling works.)
