Right Now all weapons need temper crit Chance or some additive dmg.armour Is just max life . Before we had skill size ,double hit cast, duration of skills . Utility And weapon recepies was way more deep And fun.we had some synergies also with runes. Dont let this crafting be booring
Cannot disagree more. It’s up to you to temper as you want but before tempering was a mess and at some point it was a super frustrating RNG heavy time wasting mechanism
Tempering today = the best it ever was
IT Is just ONLY Simple not any deep.i dont speaking that we can temper what we want ,but what option we Have right Now to temper . All weapons you Will temper crit Chance . Some people like Simple things ,but dev Said that this Will Chance our playstyle And open new builds diversity .how crit Chance can open more diversity or max life.
The Tempering choices available before was better. Might not have used it that often but all the size things and similar was good. I like how we apply temper now and with the cube, its not that game lacks massive gambling.
Honestly with the way tempering and mw work now it should be removed from the game and just be a thing of the past.
They are anti-arpg system.
However to your point tempering was better before when you had things like skill size. Idk why they didn’t double down on skill behavior with tempering and just removed the damage options.
Give it some seasons, and they go back to random again. ![]()
I Still feel like a middle ground would be ideal. right now its essentially pick your GA, which i admit is certainly a convenience, but it does take some of the excitement out of scoring a good roll.
I think it was fine to have pools and not be 100% deterministic. I think the not locking you out of continuing to try is good. I think giving rerolls out like candy and allowing you to sit there and endlessly spam till you get the one you want is silly.
As long as it is one of the 3 things that still exist after they eliminated all of the interesting stuff.
He isnt wrong. Tempering isnt much choice now. It really is always life on armor and crit on weapon [which is required even more in s14].
You’re absolutely right. It’s a terrible system. It doesn’t offer any choices. All the rings have cooldowns. We lost several interesting features that added incredible visuals.
We had hydra builds with 12 heads, increased skill size, more charges for razor wings. Now it’s a boring system that visually doesn’t change anything in the skills.
This Is problem.when they add something, something Is removed and upgraded in next seasons As main hype .mostly Is like that unfortunately.
No matter what they do there will be people whining and crying about it on this forum. Just get over it. After a week or two of collecting materials it becomes a guaranteed GA but still the trolls and crybabies are not happy…

Big agree . These people Are Poison of this game . They playing one hour per week And they deserve farm in T12 becouse they paid for IT . If they not gonna get something, then It Is Broken .if they Are one shoted IT Is bad design. These game was joke becouse of them. Hope blizz doesn’t care them anymore ,So they Will leave And game Will has more Real players WHO want this game better
OP was obviously not around when you had no rerolls on Tempering and you could mess up your item.
(Not brick per se but pretty messed up)
I played all seasons of this game So you Wrong .i didnt speak about random tempering . I dont want put this back . Just want go back with diversity what we had in S12
That’s not a Tempering problem if every build wants the same Temper.
Naw, that’s just class homogenization!
But I use different tempers on all of my characters. The only two being the same are Apoc Warlock and WW Selig Barbarian–both need Overpower for maximum damage.
Hmm … Actually IT Is sry
its actually embarassing how barebones the system currently is. i feel like the decision was made by some AI system as a more streamlined and efficient system.
No human could think the current tempering system is fun or engaging. And if they did, shame on them.
The big problem with tempering was that manuals were always a “static” collection, should’ve just let temper manuals roll whatever, heck the new uniques - that’s what tempering manuals should’ve been. Totally random rolls of 3 or 4 affixes, each with a small-er-ish range and several to retry, and then expire when confirmed
At this point however they should replace tempering with a socket that gives 1 or (later on post T6) 2 affixes from a certain tempering affix pool
Also tempering used to have more interesting manuals, there used to be things like chance to double-cast a skill, bigger radius on skill, skill CDR, LH% on a skill, e.t.c.
But as far as I’m concerned just replace tempering with new type of socket, it can be much more interesting/broader to play with a certain kind of drop
Heck even make 2-3 runes combined in Cube give a certain custom socket, that way we won’t hoard/stockpile on 100s of runes
