Tempering Feedback

My current experience with Tempering:

Farm for an hour or two for materials
Go temper an item
Brick item
Use scroll to get temper rolls back
Brick item again
(To clarify, temper a new item)
Use scroll to get temper rolls back
Brick item again

The scroll did nothing to alleviate the problem. Getting the same affix 5, sometimes 6 times in a row is the biggest problem. I’ve left other feedback, and I’ll continue to leave feedback like this until hopefully you change it.

I do get correct affixes sometimes, so I won’t pretend like it never happens, but typically if I don’t get the right affixes on the first temper, I won’t get it. I’ve started treating it like Enchanting, don’t get it on the first try, keep on moving. Enchanting is a whole other topic - (I opened the list of possibilities in enchanting, jesus, just why?)

D4’s crafting system is just a strictly worse version of Last Epoch’s.

i feel like you are making things up. if you werent you would know you can only use the scroll once on an item.

due to how hard is to get the neccesary items for a build, I rhink tempering shall be chosen not by lottery.
same with item affix change at occultist, that is a ripoff.

Last Epochs crafting blows this out of the water by a country mile. The most suck you get in LE is it eats too much FP, which indeed sucks and needs to be tweaked. But at least you are 100% putting the stats on an item you want.

It’s not like you go for dex and it puts shadow damage on there. You want dex, you get dex.

Yeah, you can still absolutely brick items with annoying regularity in LE, but it’s still a better overall crafting system than what we have in D4.

I also noticed that D4 decided to continue copying LE by releasing this expansion with a comparable level of bugs. UC still doesn’t work properly 100% of the time, despite it allegedly being fixed. I still get tons of lag spikes, despite having a very solid PC and gigabit internet. It’s hilarious how little polish this game has when you consider it has FOUR(!) full-fledged development teams.

How is it that Path of Exile’s Settlers league had way more content, way fewer issues, and was developed by about 8 people in the span of ~4 months?

Last Epoch is still relatively indie, albeit not like when they started…so I expect some bugs and bs from them. The thing with them is they communicate what they’re doing and tend to clean things up pretty quickly.

PoE man, GGG is just one of the few companies left that is still passionate about gaming and what matters. They’ve got solid core principles. Not perfect by any means, but they iron out their stuff man. GGG, From Software, Larian Studios…there are still some bright spots!

I am so excited for PoE 2 btw.

I successfully get +2 resolve stacks, but then masterworking fails to hit them over and over, then you hit them and fail the next one and have to restart, sometimes you get lucky twice in a row then fail the very expensive 12/12.

Should have exploited obducite while you could I guess.

Even more frustrating when there’s only 3 or 4 options on some tempers and you’ll still get the same temper 3 to 5 times in a row. Or you get one temper you need right away then the second one see the same temper 5 times in a row and brick city.

Absolutely. I’ve put hundreds of hours into LE, and am definitely a big fan of that game, but I’ll be the first to tell you it’s still by far the jankiest of “the big three” ARPGs on the market. It has very obvious soul, however, and the devs are working hard to polish the game while adding new quality content. Aberroth is a great boss–far superior to any boss fight in D4–and does not suffer from the rota problems D4 still hasn’t solved.

Just looking at the state Settlers launched in, despite how many changes and additions it made, is nothing shy of incredible. D4’s expansion is struggling to compete with that content, when it’s supposed to be squaring off against PoE 2 when it launches. GGG being willing to delay that game by a year and a half just to add more quality and polish speaks volumes.

D4’s getting dunked on by their skeleton crew using cannibalized leftover assets from PoE 2 right now, while the overwhelming majority of GGG’s resources have been devoted to the sequel for years now.

PoE does have builds that are SB-levels of insane, but the difference is it requires such an insane investment that only increases as the league ages and the build becomes more ingrained into the meta, that such player power is justified and rewarding when achieved.

It is pure hell and I hate it. I just got the one roll I didn’t want 7x in a row, 7x in a row! and went basically broke. I immediately turned the game off.
Its the worst part of any diablo I’ve experienced and I’ve played them all, a lot.
It was hell last season and why i stopped then, and they do nothing and leave it in again.

“How many times can I fail a 1 in 3?”

Yes.

Oh absolutely, LE is an absolute jank fest and the end-game needs a ton of love, among other things. But **** me if experimenting with skills/builds isn’t enjoyable in that game.

10000% on everything you said regarding the D4 vs PoE “battle” haha. They’re the complete antithesis of Blizz. The fact that they’re letting you take all of your PoE1 MTX over to PoE2 alone shows the level of respect they have for their player base.
