This is what I don’t get lol. I have 4 chars, two are level 100. I’ve probably played 100 hours this season. I’ve found a single 3GA item and it had awful stats on it. How long do people expect players to grind it out? I’m nearing the burnout stage myself.
Have they even tried masterworking? I’ve reset my amulet with a GA crit chance like 8 times for a total of 40 mil gold and it’s never hit the GA a single time.
Doing the pit ten thousand times then farming a billion gold to sit at the blacksmith and hope I can get the roll I want stops being fun eventually.
yes 3GA are very hard to obtain with the stats you want, but when you find it you feel great, most people will end up using 1-2ga items, nothing wrong with it, you always want to have something to work for. I like the system tbh
How about this: Instead of randomness, you get to pick exactly what affix you want, but it start almost useless bad and gradually get better, similar to levelling up?
So the affix starts at a 0.1% benefit, which slowly increases as you use the item.
And put in a law of diminishing returns. You can get it to half the maximum benefit in the time it takes to level from level 1 to level 100. But to get it to 75% of the maximum benefit takes twice that long, and gets slower from there.
Getting to 99% of the maximum would take finding the item on day one of the season and grinding it for 8 hours per day, every day.
I think the problem is that people are expecting 3GAs to be a standard in all slots and its not rng’d that way right now. I dont think they intended for anyone to have all 3GAs in slot by week three of the season. If you went off drops alone with no trade I would think you would get 1 maybe two 3GAs with good stats the whole season. I have gotten one so far.
That’s completely redesigning the tempering system, which is not needed. What is needed is a middle ground approach for rolling undesirable affixes on your gear and giving the player in out for not bricking item, but at the same time keeping the mechanics intact.
