We think the excitement of a unique are those fixed stats when you see the item on the ground you know ‘ok thats the unique I want, I can just equip it, I don’t even have to work on it.’

I sure wish Blizzard sticks to this (correct) view.
Uniques wont be uniques anymore if you can alter them… The entire concept is that they are static items.

Knowing Blizzard, they will likely do the exact opposite of what they say here, in Season 6.
