Summoner Necro SUCKS

When are you going to show us about how you are somehow farming T3 with that build at 28 like you claimed in another thread?
Seems like in this thread, you are getting roflstomped here too LOL.

Or play what we enjoy. Granted I am not near a fully minion build. Just my mages and golems are buffed atm, other than that I am blowing up corpses, using bone spirit and bone spear, and splinter of course. It works quite well. I know it will have to change things up but for now its fine. Builds change as you find items and eventually you start seeking out the exact build you want, and that takes well killing lots and lots of demons.

I now have 5 legendaries on the same build… but I use a golem now and Bone Spear. Everything is dying now 2x faster and I havent even press the Bone Storm Button. Not yet 50, but it’s getting easier. If the game cant kill me with my weaker gear. Howelse could it kill me ? With way better gear?

My current build is like DIablo 3’s Bone Spear build with Brigg’s Wrath ring but I dont need a special ring. D4 Necromancer has an equivalent ability. No need to wait to get a special ring. The abilities are already there. I used that build in D3 to get Avarice Achievement.

I will post you my WT3 replays when I reach 50. Hope I wont beat Act 3 before 50.

So you use a bone spear build, which is rated S tier at the moment.

Without a gear that supports it, any build would be bad. HOw could you do Carnevil With Doctor build? Or Zunimasa Witch Doctor Pet builds without the gear to support it?

Well, I never watched any streams. I found it myself. I looted awesome gear to support it. It came out naturally. But I will try to discover other different builds. I would make it S-tier.

To put into perspective how bad a preformance this I just did the same fight at 39…

With a level 24 weapon…

In under 2 mins.

Contender for being the worst build in early launch I have ever played in my life for any game. These pets are absolutely useless.

Summoner Necro is the most fun ever, at least at level 32 on Tier I difficulty. Bosses just melt. I lose maybe one skellie in a big boss fight but the ground has plenty of corpses to use to re-summon them, even on solo and solo-ish bosses.

Just finished Act IV and never ever had to sweat doing anything.

Glad I switched from WW Barb at 19 because it was just too boring and slow and so I started the Necro just to mess around for a bit and now it’s 32 levels later…

Of course, it may fall apart later, or on higher difficulty, but right now it’s a blast.

You can make your minions both super tanky and super DPS at the same time. Lots of passives and gear stats (+damage to Summon skills, +% to minion health, etc.)

It’s not the weapon. The bonus points on abilities is the one killing mobs.

I was using a Yellow rare item than a high level legendary becoz the Yellow Rare has 2 bonus point on one ability and another 2 points on another ability that I am using on the build.

I can do the same if everything aligns perfectly. Slow+ Curse to activate Bonuses then trigger Ultimate and use Nuke while on Ultimate. Might do it faster now.

They are almost useless past T3.

Can always respec at some point I guess. T3 is rather a ways away for me.

Skills that create corpses while respawning them when they die and having them at full dps type is decent. But yes, you gotta help them out with thorns and iron maiden and other skills
Even in d2 it took some help, and they always got wrecked at endgame anyway. Revive them head stunners and baal was the way

+1 summon necro is trash, anyone saying it’s ok is doing 90% of their dmg with other skills or hasn’t played any other build to compare it with.

Yes I refunded. It simple they need to learn from the people who made Diablo2. This game is not fun at all and the necromancer is just terrible.

The summoner could be terrible becoz of lack of items to buff their minions. But Necromancer that is not a massive minion summoner works fine.

I used pets to tank or to distract mobs. So on tanking, I would need a bulky hard to kill tank. Skellies dont fit the tank description. Golem does.

Did this fight at level 17, have been playing Necro since release damage isn’t too bad just need to keep your level and gear updated.

I went and followed a single summoner build from Kripp, and it’s been fantastic. I’ve had zero issues cruising through the game and I can punch through most encounters with ease. If you are having trouble, I’d suggest checking out his YouTube video.

To add, I’m on World Level 2, and this build has held up through it.

on world T2, my necro summoner is at lvl 43 atm, clearing everything so fast and super easy.

i use :
skel warrior with +3 warrior amulet total 8 skel warrior
skel ice mage vulnerable freeze with +2 boots total 5 skel mage
and a blood golem with +50% damage one
core skill : blight +15% minion damage

max the chance to spawn corpse on atk (12%/24%)
max the tendril that 3sec stun and 3sc vulnerable enemies,
max +damage buff (9%) everytime you use ā€œraise skelā€
max +minion atkspd (12%) when healthy
max +minion dmg (30%) when near

so when fight begun,
open with blight, if you’re lucky a corpse will spawn then cast ā€œtendrilā€ on the corpse to stun+ vulnerable then use ā€œraise skeletonā€ to buff +20%+(9% passive) minions damage.
if corpse doesnt spawned from blight, use golem active skill to try kill the mobs fast to spawn corpse, then use tendril+raise skel.

max lvl tendril cd around 8sec, its pretty fast. spam it every time you can.
and spam ā€œraise skelā€ whenever there’s corpse to keep +20%+9% minion damage buff up.

Edit :
try to get +minion HP stats from rings and offhand, (i have around 15% on 2 rings and offhand for a total +45% minions HP) thats why i use skel warrior that have high dps but low HP.
and you can get +summoning damage stats from body armor

Not only is this post completely irrelevant…

But this is a level 31 boss in Act 2 of the game… Dude, take your garbage build into a normal World Tier 3 dungeon at level 50…

You literally CAN’T keep your summons alive…

Let’s take this from a design perspective, they put the summon ā€˜maintenance’ button and the ā€˜summon’ button, on the same button, and only one works at a time…

Even with the buffs all your summons basically get one shot. You go to try to heal your summons and you can’t because it summons a new minion. As your minion comes out of the ground, 2+ more of your minions are dead… Still can’t heal them… you end up running a treadmill and constantly losing ground because You literally can’t heal them, and they die in less than a second in every and any endgame scenario.

On top of combining maintenance and summon onto the same button… ā€œThey wanted to make the playstyle activeā€, they said in interviews… Then why is the base heal a garbage HoT that literally heals for nothing, and doesn’t stack. If ā€œyou wanted activeā€ I should be able to spam heal from corpses and my summons shouldn’t continue to die… The only thing active about this playstyle is the activity of watching your minions continually die while you can’t do anything about it, right before you’re swarmed by everything they pulled.
