[Suggestion] Pets, Paragon, and Progression: Deep Gameplay Improvements Proposal

Hi Blizzard Team,

First of all, thank you for your ongoing work on Diablo IV. As a passionate player, I’d like to propose a set of gameplay and quality-of-life enhancements that I believe could significantly improve the overall experience, especially in the endgame.


:paw_prints: PET SYSTEM SUGGESTIONS

  1. Glyph Auto-Pickup

    • Pets should automatically collect Glyphs and similar endgame resources to reduce tedious clicking.
  2. Integrated Item Filter

    • A built-in system allowing pets to auto-salvage unwanted gear (e.g., blue and yellow items), fully customizable by the player.
  3. Passive Pet Skills

    • Unlockable traits like increased pickup radius, faster collection, or bonuses to materials gained.
  4. Buffs to the Character

    • Pets could passively boost the player (e.g., +movement speed, minor stat boosts), similar to companion systems in other ARPGs.

:racehorse: MOUNT SYSTEM SUGGESTIONS

  1. Passive Mount Skills
    • Mounts could offer minor bonuses such as increased travel speed, reduced cooldowns, or mount-only perks for open world navigation.

:cyclone: UNIQUES / ASPECTS / GLYPHS

  1. More Unique Items per Class

    • More build-defining items, such as a Diablo 3-style Amulet of Johan that pulls enemies toward a target.
  2. Account-Wide Glyphs

    • Glyphs should be unlocked and leveled once per account, not per character, to reduce repetitive grind and encourage alt play.

:deciduous_tree: PARAGON BOARD IMPROVEMENTS

  1. Stat Display

    • Show the stat bonuses provided by each Paragon board without needing to manually calculate.
  2. Glyph Level Display

    • Make Glyph levels visible directly on the board for easier tracking.
  3. Import/Export Paragon Builds

    • Add a feature to import pre-made builds or share them between players.
  4. Unlimited Paragon Progression

    • Allow progression past level 200 with meaningful stat boosts or cosmetic rewards.
  5. More Passive Bonuses and XP Scaling

    • Introduce more passives, farming options, and make XP progression viable in late-game.

  1. Weapon Leveling

    • Weapons should level up as they are used, growing stronger with the player.
  2. Weapon-Specific Passives

    • Unlock powerful traits tied to individual weapons based on usage and upgrades.
  3. Mastery, Gem Sockets, and Upgrades

    • Introduce systems for weapon mastery, socketing gems, and evolving weapons through crafting.
  4. Level 100 Weapon Milestones

    • Reaching max level on a weapon could unlock seasonal rewards, unique dungeons, or crafting materials for Sets, Aspects, or Uniques.

  1. More Seasonal Goals

    • Expand endgame seasonal content and add more loot chase elements.
  2. Progressive Unlocks

    • Avoid front-loading everything at the start of the season; build up power over time.
  3. True Power Fantasy

    • Let players feel really powerful by the end of the season through earned progression.
  4. Player Housing

    • Introduce customizable hideouts that provide passive bonuses, stash, crafting stations, and cosmetic upgrades.
