Streamers got invited to Blizz HQ to test new Spiritborn class

And they will be able to share their opinions with us the same day the class is being revealed to the public at blizzard official campfire chat.

I am pretty sure this class is going to made extremely op to attract people to buy VoH. It will likely be balanced to standard after a season or two, post VoH launch.

The new class is not all, but a big portion of the expansion that most people are eager to get their hands on. Imagine if this class gets the current Sorc or Necro treatment LOL.

Ye ain’t gonna happen…

Not good. Hope they don’t listen to them.

I dont think Blizz NOW understand what ā€œBalanceā€ mean…Anyway, I hope everything gets better ASAP, and I’m still enjoying the game so far.
I’m more interested in Voh’s plot, who will ā€œchangeā€ into Mephisto, cannot wait October 6 :see_no_evil:.

I am not sure why Blizzard does any kind of testing if they ignore the feedback

Maybe people will stop talking about Barbarians (this and that) for a few days when the new class finally hits.

Spirit born.

Play as a druid that does 25 dmg then at lvl 100 turns into a barbarian.

I apologize for my rudeness. :kissing_heart:.

As long as our feedback can be conveyed, I love this game, so hopefully it will get better.

Frankly, I wish they’d listen more to people on these forums over a place like Reddit. Reason why? The voting system there encourages homogenization of viewpoints which isn’t great for feedback. In fact it’s outright detrimental to it.

I hope it continues to get better too. The loot changes this season are not perfect, but things are going generally in the right direction. They have said they are aware of many of the larger issues the community brings up - like Tempering bricking things at end game.

Looking forward to seeing the Spiritborn class reveal this month. Hopefully it is awesome.

The forums can be a hive mind too. I think they realize that. The CMs collect feedback from the forums, reddit, twitter, streams, website comments, youtube/comments, and anything else that crosses their plate. That gets presented to the Devs in a report, at least weekly. Last I knew it was a live meeting, not just stuffed in their in-box. For some things, they grab daily focused feedback about a specific feature or issue they are looking at.

That data, along with all the metrics they collect in-game, helps form dev decisions. They know what classes are being played, what skills used, what content people are focusing on, what they are ignoring/avoiding.

ALL of it can give skewed metrics if not taken into context of where it comes from. I have never been able to see one of those reports though…so I can only assume source info is on there.

I’d love to see the metrics on that ā€œleast usedā€ part.

I have no doubt that you and Blizzard believe that, as evidenced by how anything of any importance is always posted by Blizz on Twitter and quite often not even posted here at all.

FWIW I’m completely ignoring this DLC until it gets to $20. Zero interest in the class, or the swampy area.

:joy:I bought 3 copies of the Voh (for me, for my wife, for my best friend) I don’t want to waste my money haha, S4 has a good reputation among Chinese gamers (although S5 PTR sucks).

It’s so strange to me that someone would think that these forums are ā€œactiveā€ or whatever the word is to use.

Youtube, Discord & Reddit is so much bigger for collecting feedback.

There’s a reason most games kill off their own forums and start a discord instead, Most people just don’t visit a forum website.

That is not 100% true, but it does happen sometimes. The official posts are usually mirrored between the Blizzard site (news blogs or forums), and Twitter. However, the individual persons who work at Blizz sometimes talk off the record using Twitter or reddit. It is them talking in a personal capacity, but it is frustrating that it does not also make it to the official website for tracking purposes.

That has been going on for all Blizzard games for years. What is said on their personal Twitter accounts does not get posted because it is not official.

Not sure what solution there is to that other than to tell them not to talk to anyone about work ever on their personal social media.

They know how many people visit the forums daily, how many actually post, and how many return frequently to post. All websites have those metrics. They can easily compare the number of active posters here to the viewers on a stream, or comments on reddit. Discord, etc.

The forums are very much the least used of the social media/gaming communications platforms.

EDIT

Getting you some D4 user stats for active Battlenet accounts here. It can be done by looking at Trust level groups. TL 0 means that Bnet account logged in to the forums. TL1 means they spent about 10 mins here. TL2 are repeat visitors who have posted a few times. TL3 are very frequent users who keep active over rolling 100 day periods where stats are collected. Everyone in TL1 is also in TL 0 as well, so these are not additive.

TL0 - (EVER visited) 315,511
TL1 - (10 mins) 78,802
TL2 - (Repeat users) 8,621
TL 3 - (Regular heavy users) 134

So, there are stats on how much use the forums gets by Battlenet accounts who have bought the game. We know many millions of copies sold across multiple platforms. Those folks are not on the forums.

You are right. I haven’t used Discord for quite some time either. I have friends that are women that have been harassed, online stalked, and doxxed from gaming Discords (including the D4 one) though.

Yep, for all games lol
