Sorc nerf to lightning spear huh?

Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised. But then again… the devs do some surprising things lol.

What gets me is that when I go anywhere near a lvl 200 boss, I see three builds. Lightning spear sorc, Bash barb and Andy Barrage Rogue. Neither the Bash Barb nor the 10,000,000 ricochet barrage rogue have been touched. Neither has the Chain Lightning Sorc which also functions off those same procs. Why does Blizzard always target Sorc for nerfs on their strongest builds? And if the servers are lagging, why not just hide the graphics of the procs or double the hits of summons that are from those procs? This was obviously a way to nerf the build without saying they were nerfing it.

Not a graphic issue. We have graphic clutter all over all the time. ITs a calculations per second issue. 100k sorcs making 20 spears hitting 50 enemies 5 times a second. All that has to be calculated on damage, crits, lucky hits, pathing, ect. Its too much.

Dint really nerf it from my view but Im not a best geared sorc and I dont even use winterglass. The reports are in and its a slight nerf for the best geared builds and a buff for everyone else. I was barely doing T7 before and its easier now on boss and a bit harder in aoe which is fine the build cleared in aoe like mad so who cares.

Funny thing is that up until yesterday’s “patch”, I had not experienced or even heard of any issues regarding lag myself.
But today there is a post complaining about lag at world boss now.

Not everyone has mythics and I’m not the “best geared” but now even when I have FO on my bar and I’m CASTING it, I can’t get the reduction like before. It’s literally preventing me from proc’ing it as often when I’m USING FO. So, I’m not sure where you’re getting your information, but didn’t just nerf spears, it’s preventing the double cast from FO which makes the item no longer function unless it’s MAXED out and you’re in full Mythic gear.

I dont use winterglass I cant comment on any of this. Seems like some other part of your build broke.

Additionally, the amount of Frozen Orbs that can be launched from Conjurations while using Fractured Winterglass has been adjusted in these rare instances.

This from patch notes doesnt seem to apply to whatever happened to you on dbl casts so no idea.

When 90% of the sorcs playing the build say their build stopped working. STOP listening to streamers who get kickbacks from Blizzard to stream their content and smooth over their mistakes.

What 90% of sorcs? Streamers dont represent 90% of sorcs. Who is sayings its dead?
I dont listen to streamers. Streamers are a scourge like Rob saying yah dupe stuff and get me in the action.

I would think that the sheer number of players running high IH - they’re probably well equipped, only open the GA chest, maybe some mats( to a point since how many Stygs do they need?)
Then dump mass amounts of Aether into Gold Chest.
That’s probably happening how many times a minute?
I think Sorc LS is secondary.

I also never saw the “performance” lag(Blizz claiming LS) prior to whatever micro-patch they hit us with (yesterday? I lost track…maybe Tues) - I got kicked and locked out of game and nothing has been the same since and lag has progressively gotten much worse.

LS is def part of it much like BL was part of it.
Back then it WAS BL for sure but it was more about AOZ and BL mob-stacking wrecking the servers.
This is def 100% the reason they’re changing the Gold Chest in IH.
It’s causing THAT MUCH more lag than we realize and possibly more than LS.
Boulder vs handful of pebbles in a pond performance wise.

Its kinda sad a gold chest can cause lag. I get the other things but gold chest times 1000 mats is breaking it? How???

I don’t know if it’s live yet or not but I don’t notice a difference at all

They say you won’t notice it unless you pit push.
So basically don’t have any expectations of playing higher pits and be casual.
To me, it’s a nerf. If it affects any gameplay erroneously, it’s a nerf.
But my opinion on this is not popular and has so far gotten eloquent responses like “cry more” and “love them sorc tears” lol.

LS sorc still has the highest pit clear at 152. This was done after the patch. At least its the highest on Robs list. It also still clears T8 fine and deletes the bosses in about 5 seconds. I don’t know what people expect but its still the best build of the season right now.

Mekunas pit clear time doubled due to the change.
I get what you’re saying and maybe I’m splitting hairs here but it is what it is.
Also, I’m not so sure it’s the best anymore. I think rogue took that spot now.

I mean maybe but Rob just made the new tier list video yesterday and LS sorc was still number 1 with the highest pit clear at 152 and that clear was done after the patch. So I dunno. It still melts T8 like a breeze. Rogue might have slightly better single target boss damage but Sorc all around AoE and Boss damage is the best.

If it aint the best then its still up there with the best. I think the complaints are overblown. It is highly unlikely anyone on this forum complaining about it is even capable of doing that high of a pit clear and likely didnt even notice a difference at all.

Yeah, I agree that most casual players will not notice it.

I’m saying most regular people won’t notice either. Really only the super sweats should notice. Most regular people aren’t pushing pit I doubt. Some maybe but most I bet no.

Whereas I never once read a single post on here complaining about issues before the so called “hotfix”, now there have been multiple threads about stuttering and lag at world boss.

So kudos on fixing it lol.
