Sorc is the worst class in Pit

Those skills work on normal mob but not the Tier 70+ PIT which has billions HP. The mobs still alive after your stun and they will become unstoppable and there is nothing left in the tank if you play this way. Of course you can dodge and wait their unstoppable over, but the PIT has timer which you will just run out of the time by waiting mobs available for stun again.

Which is nonsense BTW, why is frozen orbs LH chance so inherently low

Yeah, it is a cruel joke that fractured winterglass FO procs work off lucky hits so you need some lucky hit but then FO’s LH chance is 4%, so that LH is almost useless on your main damage ability.

Lucky hit is a bit of a mess on sorc atm. This patch saw the complete removal of the lucky hit modifier from stacking the firebolt enchant dot (dots applied to a target have a lucky hit value per tic, and if stacked multiple times, they usually have a multiplier to that lucky hit value. Firebolt enchant had one, but they deleted it this patch. Didnt say anything about it it the notes, just kinda let us find out the unpleasant way lol. Good dev team, well done guys).

Unfortunately this was the source for most sorcs for lucky hit procs, and left sorc feeling shallow in terms of play. I do wish the devs would let us know if they make adjustments causing skills to behave outside standardized behavior, but probably too much to ask, as they dont appear to communicate internaly on all things either.

Edit: i should add, hydra enchant has no lucky hit. Hydra summon (ie cast) has 2.5% baseline. The low lucky hit issue also affects lightning spear. Iceblades is a bit better, but not much. Having the new unique amulet introduced at the same time they deleted the lucky hit modifier for firebolt enchant stacks is a bit rich. Like getting a tesla but you’re not allowed a charger and it wont connect to the network.

Finally got Fractured Winter glass today as I wasn’t having luck from Zir and open world. Found that Frozen orb is the worst build for PIT after nerf. Not only it has poor single target damage against the boss, it obscures a large part of the screen so I cant see most oneshoot mechanic from the shadow boss and the boss itself which kept killing me. Blizzard ice spike is still better overall and has better visibility so I can see what is coming to me. Flameweaver is stronger than Blizzard in killing the boss nevertheless.

I predict this correct and also proved that Blizzard Sorc class manager need to be replaced

Yes, if Align the elements is maxed at 40%, it would take 4 points.

Now, lets try plugging in some numbers. Say taking a 30k hit, and see how they compare.

30k x .6 (align, 40%) equals taking 18k worth of damage. Your shield will absorb 30% of max life. Say we have 30k life.

30k (base hp) + 9k (shield) equals 39 - 18k, leaves you, the sorcerer, at 21k health.

A necro taking that same 30k hit would take 22.5k damage against a 60k HP, which would leave them still at full hp, 30k, with 7.5k hp shielding remaining on carapace.

In practice though, Necrotic is even better, as base HP is better as resists, armor, and DR is factored in together.

So in conclusion, no, sorcerer defenses are not OK.

1 point Align the Element unlock Manashield which you can put 3 points 24% DR. Align the Element is 3% DR per second. Total DR is 27%. Most player don’t take more than 1 point of Align the Element as 1 point you get 40% DR if you not get hit by elite which is easy for Sorc.

Damage reduction is based on incoming damage, not your HP. The one absorb HP is the another passive called Protection which gives barrier. The barrier can take more than its capacity before it disappear, therefore you just need to put one point and avoid taking continuous damage.

30k x 0.7 = 21,900 minus 85% DR from armor cap, 21900 x 0.15 = 3,285

You can see how good Sorc DR is, I have below 1K HP. and armor CAP. Can face tank the shadow boss.

Crazy talk. Sorc is miles ahead of every other class in pit. Flay barb is 158, Pen Shot rogue 159 and Sorc 170 solo (and 180 duo).

Because of being immortal due to how Flame Shield works(which wasn’t widely known when this thread was made). And frankly all of the comments are back to relevancy next season due to the Flame Shield abuse being shut down and Sorc has no build to compete against top classes as it was on PTR.

Ye dude cuz 1 BUILD is the the whole class now right? Show me different Sorc Build that pushed 130+, even with ifinite Flame Shield u cant deal enough dmg in time to finish

Charged Bolt with Adariel’s Visage can do PIT130 in 12min(without Shatter).
Although mainly because of Visage IMBA……

You got any video for that I tried both Chain lighting And sparks with Andariels, And both very pretty bad wasnt able to even kill 115 with it, even tho my gear wasnt rly perfect. So I am kinda curious or are u talking about PTR where Andariels dmg got huge buffs?

It seems that the author has not uploaded the video yet. However, he has a screenshot before completion (Chinese version of the client), I posted the link here ↓.

It’s S4.
As author said, Conjuration Mastery is the most important.
Repeat Unstable Currents can make huge number of summons, then resulting in huge benefits from Conjuration Mastery.
You can try this :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:.
Here is his BD (It is a Chinese site, please pay attention. Most of them are already in English mode.)

Ty, checked the items they are running with translator. Might give it a one more try sometime

I play only sorc. To clear or farm mobs is fun and easy. But all bosses, lilith… its a pain. i finish quest line and quit. not even woth to try to reach barbs damage.

This is where you made a mistake.

  1. If a characteristic begins to appear more often, it means it is practically useless.
  2. You forget about the +100% attack speed limit. This. A completely useless change.
  3. I’m very interested, based on what logic Blizzard gave sorcerers +% skill casting instead of increasing skill damage. With other classes you get something more useful, like increased damage.
  4. they didn’t even check how their balance works within the sorcerer class.
.Fire spells rely on critical damage when the main mechanics of the DOT skill, there are no normal bonuses on DoT.
. Ice skills rely on bunkers when their mechanics are more likely to be based on lucky hits.
.Lightning skills should be based on critical damage and work speed. All skills either do not depend on attack speed or have entire sets of restrictions.
I’m wondering who worked on this?
And I’m very interested in how you can get millions of damage when the maximum calculated DPS of classes does not exceed 20 thousand. There is clearly something working with serious bugs here.
Speaking of meta. In a normal game, this is something that should be fixed within the first 3 days from the moment of the patch.

currently i am doing pit 120 without perma shield. Good enough for me.
I am using my own firebolt build.
