the idea is for marketing campaign.
as long as something is visible, people will talk about it and info spreads.
there is this thing called “displayed” & “seen” tagged to every user. at the end of day, information is gathered and marketing team will analyze them to gauge how effective the marketing campaign was.
Makes me wonder what kind of effect all these shiny wings, and cutsie pets will have on my framerate. Game is already laggy as hell anytime a couple necros show up.
It would be nice to have soooo many cute pets like necros got skeletons.
Disgusting that you think like this for real
LOL. /S might be appropriate here.
The OP is complaining that they can see other players wearing the wings.
Wait until they figure out that they can see other players wearing armor sets they purchased in the store.
Me and my boyz need to have matching wings when we are out slaying. Squad uniform. Mandatory.
I miss having the giant bat wings in diablo 3!
My only issue with the wings is they are all the same, so everyone just looks like ‘wings’. No feather Vs bone Vs dragon Vs butterfly whatever.
“Look at me, I’m just like you!” is not an incentive for cosmetics.
It’s not about something being believable when it comes to immersion. If that were the case, people would NEVER be immersed in 99% of entertainment out there.
Here’s some examples of things that break immersion:
- A Jedi Knight shooting lightning from his fingers like a Sith Lord.
- Geralt of Rivia using a portal and saying, “Heck Yeah! WEEEEEEEEE!”
- A Dragonborn shouting a Thuum out his butt.
I mean… do you really need more examples? Sorry, I just get sick of reused “arguments” that never held together to begin with.
Immersion being broken is not impossible just because the world is a fantasy setting, because even that fantasy setting has it’s own set of rules. If it didn’t, we wouldn’t have anything… it would just be chaos.
So people putting a foot down and fighting to maintain a tone that a game they love has is absolutely acceptable and should be expected to happen in all honesty.
Can you imagine the backlash Bioware would get if the upcoming Dragon Age 4 was a whimsical, Disney-like looking game that completely broke the tone of the previous 3 games? Oh… wait…
Blizzard made a decision. We’re stuck with the crap. Soon we’ll be able to buy more cosmetic options for wings and so forth. I guess those poor devs need to make a buck so they can feed their families.
when you pre-order the most expensive pack to get exclusive stuff but actually every second guy running the same christmas tree wings now
I encountered some winged characters today and they look great. But I agree with you, game is going to be an angel fly party soon
Oh no i’m dead serious.
That is the only concern I have. I dont recall the robot pet in S3 causing too many issues. And many speculated that was a testing ground for pets. Hope they are right and the pets wont cause too much lag. I doubt the wings will cause any tech issues because we have had back trophies since the beginning.
The vocal minority on the forums complaining about how bad and awful D4 is are exactly that - a vocal minority.
And I’d be willing to bet that even a large percentage of that vocal minority buy the expansion as well… and then complain more!
Robot was testing for mercs.
i agree d1 and d2 universe was a lot better, i still like the game but the atmosphere is not as good they break immersion with those thing.
I guess. A lot of people are asking for a paladin, not including me. They do not get the holy class, so they get the holy wings. Lol
They believe they can fly. They believe their paladins will be ba~~~ck…
yeah, plus more weird mounts and armours and more wings and more weird stuff for sure
