Good. My bad. I sat out most of S1. S2 also seems to have some stuff in it that should have been there at launch. So things are looking up.
We will see. Still a bit of an uphill climb as the “novelty” is already gone. At least anyone coming to the game net new, will not have a mediocre first 4 months.
POE has a complete other behaviour in terms of rares…POE has way more possible affix/suffix combinations because it has so much more different affixes/suffixes than Diablo 4.
You realy can’t compare those 2 games in terms of rare items…thats the reason why I wrote “almost”.
In POE you metacraft your endgame gear, sometimes with 100ts of Divines (or Exalts back in the days).
The only “crafting” that you have in Diabo 4 is rolling 1 affix…but because D4 hasn’t that many affixes in total every rare on the floor in D4 has the potential to be a BIS item (I think theres even a algorythm in D4 that certain affix combinations drop more frequently and that it’s not as random as in POE).
In D4 you can find a very good or even GG gear piece every 4-5 NM dungeons…In POE you finde one maybe every 1000 maps (and not even very good ones, because you only can craft those GG items), just to compare things.
Thanks god they’ll change this in POE 2, so picking up rares will be a thing again because with the new Chaos Orb every item on the floor can end up being a BIS GG item.
Ye I hope for an ingame solution in future…currently it’s only possible via Discord if you want to trade properly & effective (the ingame trading chat is useles, sadly).
Its been some years since i played poe but i think the more complex crafting and different itembases and ilvl let the lootfilter be that effective i m not sure if it actually check every afix.
I think they should more orient themself on the system in lost ark…
there u can mark combination of dumbstats and the filter autosalvage.
In diablo it could just mark them as junk but i suppose this would work the best if u can add more dumpster stats to the loot u have to look through less and less.
because its annoying and takes a lot of gametime.
I mean i can work with it but in the end the more u look at the aweful loot the more u have the feeling u never upgrade or progress ur char and the endgame gets more depressing.
In the end its more importing to add really exciting stuff besides the generec legendary stuff but if they help u filter out quicker it would be a huge QoL feature.
Edit: Especially around lvl 80 when ur build is basically running and u search just for the min max upgrades its gets annoying …
To much loot, nothing really good. Its not a new feeling to diablo but there are better systems out there
I get a headache from reading the stats on “rare” loot so I simply salvage everything based on item level. I lose some potentially good items, but it’s better than having a headache.
I thought going through items and trying to decide which one was better by comparing stats was like one of the things alot of the people really enjoyed in the game? If the game just changed it to automatically telling you which is better so you don’t have to think about it for even a milisecond all of that would just be thrown out the window.
‘‘I just want to kill demons!!!’’’ often see people throw this crap around without actually thinking what they are asking for.
yeah think where u have to decide … is the think u want but always checking on stuff there its not even a one a million chanceu would ever use or gamble on such an items is not…
And in the endgame u get stashes full of such items without ever to really consider if there is a build where u could use it.
U will still get items where u can think well is armor better or resist or are higher rolls better or are all 4 useful stats better.
We just want to minimize the look on fulltrash
Indeed, comparing your loot should be an essential part of the game.
That said, would be good to have a loot filter for highlighting the items you want to compare.
It cant tell you what is best, only roughly split up items in what got a potential and what does not. With the downside that it might make you miss items that would be great for another build.
Still the biggest issue in my lost ark flter idea are not the affixes but the unique powers… U sometimes want to keep the powers of Trash because of a well rolled or desired power and i think that u have a combination of affixes + powers makes it kind of complex to filter.
So u probably need sth like marking any power u need for ur build + any perfect rolled power to keep as well ;/
