You know that torment 1 and 2 with the new glyphs are actually easier than actual world tier 4, right? 1 and 2 are a complete joke, torment 3 is basically the same as 4 now and the only barely challenging one is T4

Stopping at T3 with uber uniques in your gear and saying that’s fine it’s like saying your legacy .50 cal is fine because it can still oneshot pidgeons. You don’t even need uber uniques to blast trought T3 there’s not a single reason for anyone to stay in T3 for more than what it takes to do pit 65 and go to T4

And no, not even playing a so called “meta build” so you’re wrong in pretty much everything you just said

The problem isn’t that legacy items dropped to 540, the problem is that the last 10 levels items rise a whole whopping 210 (and 260 consecutively if counting the ancestrals)

Why make lvl60 items at least 4x stronger than lvl50 ones ? and ancestral items 2x stronger than any other ?

That excess of exponential power literally makes everything else obsolete in comparison

Because if they, at least, scaled legacy items with some logic they would still be viable and that’s not what they want, they want to force everyone to farm for all their gear again in order to keep them playing

It’s basically like putting the game on life support, i still remember good times when games managed to retain playerbase just adding more good content instead of forcing you to play just for being able to do what you were already able to do before, or to get the exact same stuff you already got

If they care about metrics rather than gameplay quality don’t be surprised if game tanks (regardless if it’s better than it used to be before)

People got fed up being treated like a lab-rat running circles (or supposed to run circles) in order to “find best gear” time and time again overall

Refarming in general is not the problem at all, not in the slightest form.

The low droprates are the real Problem…

We don’t want to blast thru T4 from day 1…we simply want to have the same power level we already had BEFORE without it being nerfed to the ground, easy as that

And yeah. also considering that, with those drop rates, refarming for good multiple GA gear is gonna be a nightmare

Wasting time looking for something you already have is NOT fun, keeps people playing the game ofc, but it’s not an intelligent way of doing that

but you have exactly that in S6, you said new T3 is wt4 equivalent now, so you basically lost no power at all, when old gear still viable in T3.
For a bigger challenge ( T4) you need to farm new, better gear, simple.

And on eternal realm you have the advantage of dozens of sparks to craft your new items instantly without farming, simple.

The speed and pace is the problem (hyper-efficiency if you will).

If you kill 30 mobs a second you’ll have to put items in every 300th mob to make it look or feel normal (as opposed to every 5th or 10th mob or whatever)

Slow down the pace and progress of the game and not expect people to beat the content 200 times to get something of use in return and it will work

im strictly talking target farming bosses for mythics, uniques and ancestrals here.

Yes reduced droprate IS the problem.

Current droprate is fine cause you have the chance to get the higher GA items with the important aspects you need on your items.

I dont care if i have to salvage 500 items in that process.

But farming a week to get ONE ancestral item with wrong affixes is BS and will lead to a big loss of players.

You know D4 is a casual game, majority want to quick play, get good items fast and simple.

long grinds and farming will kill of playerbase, im not talking about the 0,1 % no lifers here, who see it as a privilige to waist lifetime in a videogame…

If you design things in expectance to be beaten 500 times to “work” then don’t be surprised that the game will be scorned by those that don’t want to play 500 times (or can’t do it cause not as efficient as expected) in order to make it work

I disagree with the latter, game was fine as slower-paced (with exception of most efficient builds) when it came out. Also that part of “people wanna get good items” can be fixed if the expectation of what a good item is is lower and items weren’t so top-heavy in demand in general

when you design the game to maybe get ONE of your desired 5 items in a season span of three months MAYBE if you are lucky, what do you think will happen to the playerbase of this game ?
Calling this “forever items” farming, like the devs call it, is plain and simple STUPID in a seasonal focused game, where your “forever” timespan is 3 months and you rather get 50 mythics in that time than 3-5 desired ancestrals with good rolls.

Its just a completely stupid move thats shows how clueless devs are about their own game…

WT4 is a joke once you have a decent build and uber uniques, you can basically oneshot any overworld boss (Except for world bosses) in WT4 with any barely decent build, like blood mayden exploding even before fully spawning so anything overworld at WT4/ S6 Torment 3 is not even worth doing if you already have good build and gear. That’s why T4 is going to be the only thing that actually matters if you already have a good char and you should totally be able to do it from day one with a decent build and uber uniques since it’s what is meant for. Nerfing the crap out of gear just to make people not able to be as good as they were before if they don’t farm for the same stuff all over again it’s not an improvement, it’s a sad way to try keep players play your failed game

Why not have a healthy amount of say 200 items that can be decently desired but none of them are a clear winner to be having ?

One thing begets another, and all the motherload of problems (again) come from the very same source

According to your statements there should be no problem at all then and you will be capable of running t4 with your old gear day1.

For me that would be boring as hell, iots good when you have to farm new item for T4 as long as the droprates are on S5 level.

Why should i be able to run highest tier from the start, why then bringing DLC/ expansions at all, why increasing difficulties at alkl then when yopu want to be able to beat highest content day1 without effort/ farming/ reajusting builds ?

makes NO sense at all

with desired items i mean ancestral item with the exact 3 affixes you need for your build, even in the current state is quiet hard to find those and im not even talking about the 2-3 GA verions.

So when in S5, lets say you would need 100 ancestral to drop to find ONE with the affixes you need for your build, with current droprate its ok, cause you can farm items quickly to get to your lucky number.
But when in S6 only 2-3 ancestrals drop per 50-100 hours playtime and then you need these 100 ancestrals to drop to get the right affixes on it will kill off most of the players momentum to even keep playing this game, especially on seasonal realm when your a casual player, which are 99% of the players

The intelligent way of doing that would have been to introduce level 1050, 1150 and 1250 NEW gear with NEW uber uniques at 1250 and NEW higher level content like lv 250 mobs and bosses or even make the already existing tormented bosses harder to kill while leaving all the stuff we already had the exact same as it is now. New skills, new glyphs and so on are kinda fine, just introduce NEW more powerful gear than we currently have with NEW and more powerful challeges in the new area and that’s all they needed to do instead of rendering our good gear crap and force us to farm for the same exct stuff all over again in order to kill the same exact mobs and bosses

Just ramping up the power needed for endgame and introduce NEW gear with higher power than we currently have, they just could have done it with 2 more world tiers and all new (And different) higher power level items to farm for…done

They’ve done this nonsense crap instead

You’re still ignoring the big elephant in the room (Powercreep i.e. the top-tier-centric approach)

  • GAs should’ve been a roll on everything BUT legendaries

That way people may or may have not gunned for the Uber-Mythics but all other items would’ve been useful

Also, introducing a new mechanic as alternative to Tempering for the long-term

The goal is NOT to make the 0.00005% of items that may or may not drop have a second tier of RNG to eventually be better, the goal is to make the other 99.99995% situationally better… That’s why things like Runewords (or at least should’ve been) were introduced

Another thing is that there’s like NO REASON for Legendary items to have 2 sockets (make it rare and blue only feature if need be for example)

The problem lies in (again) that top-tier-centric (putting all eggs explicitly in one basket) approach

I really don’t care, it’s the internet and ya’ll are mostly bad faith whiners.

This is good to know… I dont play too often and will not play until after the changes so I dont waste time farming items that will be junk soon.

This is already possible if you have decent gear. There are already videos of ppl doing pit 100 in legacy gear during the PTR.
