I was just talking about this exact issue specifically with Shroud last night, how it’s by far the most interesting mythic because the +1 passives isn’t only powerful but it can open up certain builds and diversity in ways that no other mythic can. While I do really dig Shattered Vow and its intriguing DoT build potential and a few other mythics, I would love to see all mythics buffed to the same build-opening power level as Shroud.
To counter this, mythics should definitely be limited to only equipping one at a time.
This serves multiple purposes -
- prevents power creep and mythics becoming even more dominating for all end-game builds and becoming the balance point for the highest difficulty (and in turn diminishing every class and build in the game)
- Keeps uniques and legendaries from having to compete against more than one, which retains the original class builds more.
- Allows mythics to be designed for every item slot
- Allows mythics to express far more of a unique theme or flavor
So yeah like, this is a good idea and in the end it can make the game have way more build diversity and interesting interactions instead of just a “this item is gives you big stat boosts” which isn’t interesting or necessary.
