1- Where is our directstorage implementation?
2 - Game suffering from shader compilation problems and even worse now. Everytime we clear drive and start a new compilation the game freezes for a while, 2 minutes sometimes even more.
3 - PvP areas always stuttering a lot after a while playing.
4 - How can we pay for expansion if they can’t even fix this game all this time.
Visiting Denshar breaks the game and it probably has something do with this visual glitch:

I believe there is something wrong with the environment. The above glitch happened to me a few times on the right side of the map, somewhere near boneyard.
I clear my shaders/temp folders/etc etc at the start of every season.
it goes like this-
-open task manager (for use in killing D4 process)
-50/50 chance to freeze (or stutter terribly)
-once that is over
-create character
-exit diablo
-white screen D4 freeze (process not responding)
-do this a few times after loading into character select
-once that white screen freeze upon exit stops I know they are somewhat compiled
-log in/out a few more times in different areas
this is my D4 ritual. I also do this when I update my gpu drivers. I learned that If I don’t do this and head straight into the fray, hard lock ups, game freezes etc etc happen. almost feels like i’m running an emulator to play the game.
@ above poster, check your temps but the pic is pretty small. looks like your vram is getting cooked. usually, when you start seeing that (again the image is small), it’s a good sign something is on it’s way out/will need replacing. may take years though.
I resized the picture.
It’s a well known bug in Denshar, happened to many others. If I open D4 and run around in Denshar for 1 minute and then TP out - the game starts to stutter periodically.
amd or nvidia? I have never had this happen(in D4) or any game for that matter unless the GPU(VRAM) was on it’s way out. if it is happening to many others i’d advise them the same as I did you. again that image is pretty small.

yep looks like his gpu was cooking itself. that isn’t to say that the area isn’t causing it.
had RDR2 cook a 2070 Super on me just like that(and I was within temps/clocks). thank you evga(RIP) for the excellent warranty.
this isn’t mine but

looks like Blizz might have an (old?) problem.
if I were you, and you like your 1080 (I still break out my 980Ti)
-check clock speeds (if over-clocking or letting the GPU overclock/boost itself)
-set a fan profile (I use an aggressive fan profile 65%+)
-watch power use (I have mine set to 80%)
-monitor temps
-cap framerate
of course people will say software can’t kill hardware…it is just the hardware is defective.
on New World release, there was a huge fiasco. even with D4 in the beta(s) iirc the cutscenes were not capped and were pushing peoples hardware to it’s limits.
I see that was 10 months ago, 1st link was 1 year ago. wonder if he got a new console.

well what you are showing me is called " Artifacting". it’s a sign of sooner or later hardware failure. you might even be starving your GPU for some juice. I stress-test etc etc. usually only takes me an hour to get where I want with temps/clocks/stability. ofc when I do burn ins I test for hours.

Nice, I still have my evga 8800gtx in working order. sold my BFG 8800 quite awhile ago.

iirc it was gigabyte cards that cooked the most (playing D4)
it was found that there -was- an issue with the PCBs, I think. it’s been awhile.
