From the datamined data on Wowhead, seems like Blizzard and Meteor might be the 2 builds for S8, while Fireball might still be a good farming build.
Could you link the thread? Because I donât see how blizzard was buffed in any way. Meteor was buffed alright this season. I think fireball is going to be the strongest build.

The section on Aspects made me think of the Blizzard build (like back when they had the Season of the Construct [robot thing])
Looks more like an ice spike build supported by blizzard. I think meteor and fireball got the fat bonuses, also lightning builds can use teleport + any other light enchantment for the 60%x bonus from the paragon board. That one is going to be huge.
edit: static surge legendary node can be refreshed every second, also a huge boost to light builds.
Yea, Blizz has been doing that a lot lately (the spender/skill builds being dependent on some proc, ie. EQ or DDâs for barbs)
Why not ? Teleport has the shock tag.
If you take Enchant master in a fire or cold build and decide to use Teleport in your enchantment slot you lose out on damage.
Depending on the type of damage you do you could switch to burning instinct or icefall. Otherwise, rakanothâs wake is gonna be very popular again.
Incinerate Sorcerer is a very strong build.
I am testing it and I can kill all tormented bosses in less than 4 seconds.
But the PIT, the way they are making now is just impossible. I can finish pit 94 only.
All other Tier 4 are piece of cake for incinerate.
Also I tested my usual CH / LS build and its way weaker than incinerate.
With LS, I barely can finish pit 88. Very weak and take much longer to kill the tormented bosses.
I leveled a CL on the ptr and then maxed her out when vrak came online. I now waste everything on T4. Using grigâs power main. Highest pit is 75 with like 7 minutes to spare. Now my glyphs are 100 but S7 is the only time otherwise. Highest pit S6 was 95. So overall OK.
I tied orb lightning with the new changes. Definitely stronger.
The Ice Shards unique makes no sense. You are much better off not using it. If it was a gloves and removed the cone damage, it could be in contention.
I have not gotten a chance to test the fire build, but that changes seem good too.
I think OL will and sorc as a whole, will remain ideally for speed farming. Pushing pit will likely remain behind.
Beside IS, I was disappointed that there were no meaningful changes to hydra or arch lash.

Itâs fun to play - but it wonât compete.
Perdition or Shacko. The gloves a free spot as nothing goes there. The cone will require you to be right infront of the target. And considering my experience with playing d4 with controller, this will be wonky.
So I put my Feedback out on the PTR Forum. Would love some fellow Sorcs to throw out their opinions, too. Their is almost no Feedback on classes on the PTR forums. So take your time and share what you like or which mechanic frustrates you.
no matter what build you are using, fireball is a must have in the skills bar because it executes mobs below 25% health. Balls Lighting is another must have in any build to generate crackling energy for the Convulsions passive that gives up to x85% damage
Firebolt gives another x25% damage increase.
