Theory crafting was a thing long before the internet.
Unfortunately after level 70, a âlower difficultyâ is not playing the game
a true champion the last real boss was not lilith. Its the game design. Now we bring the DPS to the servers.
I think the Blood Lance necros already did. Rofl.
Thisâď¸. The simplest solution is often correct.
The problem for me/my friends list is the game is tedious to play. The end point might be ok and the graphics are meh ok but the process of going from level 1 to end game geared is just not fun at all.
Compare that to D3 where you do a challenge rift, rebirth a character claim, cube/gamble power then max level in a couple hours through chaining kill streaks (the fact D4 doesnt have that mechcanic speaks VOLUMES to the missing action elements), chest farming or rift leveling (play what you want to play) or just get boosed later in the day on season launch. Then claim class setâŚ
The pace of the game just accelerates and was fun⌠compare that to D4âŚ
Clan looks active (messages etc) but the interface on console is so bad who knows.
Friends list/IRL are doing okay. I donât have any that permanently quit but a few who did stop to wait for s1 (majority) and then a few, like myself who are playing through to s1
D4 is a live service game that the developers expect to make money through the life of it. The games you compare to are one and done games.
But thereâs no monthly fee. The base game costs as much as a one and done. You get what you pay for.
Sure but the devs want that cash shop money. People walking away are not giving them cash shop money.
Itâs a really pitiful season content. I understand that itâs free but I would rather pay $10 like I do in Destiny and get a quality drop.
Itâs pretty clear from the rushed Uber Lilith kills that these developers donât seem keen or able to deploy end-game bosses
im going to play season 1 but really only to try a new class since there is no stash space in my current stash i will use season as my extra stash ill play till around level 70 and then get bored again cus gear is garbage and there is no end game
I have changed my expectations but I am still going to play season 1. At this point I realize itâs a waiting game for things to get better and it will because they put a superbowl ad out. The money is already invested. We are better off reporting bugs and trying to give them ideas to improve build parity over talking about the game popularity. If we are lucky they will make a positive turn and we will be able to enjoy our investments.
You all need to chill for a bit.
Itâs not like this is the first season of a game which is the fourth installment of a franchise that was nearly a decade in development and selling for around $70-100
Oh waitâŚ
What in your mind keeps you from enjoying Diablo 4 seriously is it the corporate propaganda that keeps you from enjoying the game in the form of fictional comments? I am absolutely serious in my question. Thank you kindly for responding.
They canât increase density because it lags like balls. Where is density higher? Hell tides, strongholds, pvp zones, all lag like balls the most. Itâs seemingly better than it was, runberbanding is rare, but shots miss, skills stutter, skills donât go off, potions donât respond, dodge doesnât respond. Itâs not constant, just enough to annoy usually, but it doesnât take long to start grating.
Super Mario 3 was 49.99 at release date in the late 80âs wrap you head around that.
Very interesting comment with some valid points.
The fact that you thought any of that would be coming 8 weeks after launch⌠lol
Maybe 8 months. If weâre lucky.
Unfortunately, Blizzard loves its level scaling systems. It means they can literally just vomit stuff all over the game map with no careful planning or design, and say âLook, guys! Thereâs stuff for you to do everywhere regardless of your level!â
This comes at the cost of specially designed encounters, locations and events, which impacts the playerâs exploration and sense of growth. No longer can you return to an earlier area and easily one shot everything as proof of your growing strength. No longer can you encounter a powerful enemy or a frightfully strong location that slaughters you and demands that you come back when youâre stronger.
Imagine playing Elden Ring for the first time, except it has level scaling. You find that one trapped chest early on that teleports you to a cave in Caelid. Except because it has level scaling now, all the enemies are reasonably easy to kill, and the hellish atmosphere of Caelid is now just another playground for your low level character to demolish. That ruins Caelid. The reason why that location was so impactful when you found it early on is because not only is the environment and atmosphere entirely hellish, but also the enemies there are both scary, and frighteningly strong, very likely slaughtering you with ease, as you scramble to find a way out of that hellhole and back to the safety of the starting area as soon as possible. But you also knew, at the same time, that one day you would come back, when youâre stronger, and youâd get your revenge on this nightmare region. And it would feel gooooood
Level scaling everything ruins that. In fact, the only times you might ever feel this way about any D4 content is if you happen to try out the capstone dungeons, which are very clearly labeled for what level you should do them at, at a much lower than recommended level. And maybe encountering the Butcher early, but RNG encounters like that donât really have the same impact as discoverong a preset enemy or location that you cant handle yet and need to come back to. Even Yakuzaâs street encounters like Mr Shakedown arenât RNG, they patrol the streets and you can see them coming and can actively avoid and escape them if you feel you arenât ready to tackle them yet.
