Scripted non-random drops confirmed with actual data

He’s describing a pity timer. That’s a pretty standard mechanic and again… not at all the same thing.

So you admit that rigging RNG is a standard practice and then turn around and say that RNG in D4 isn’t rigged

No, no, you aren’t understanding.
He is saying that rigging isn’t rigging. Only the rigging he is talking about is rigging.

Calling it “rigging” is reductive. Pity timers only go one way and are based off only one factor

Dude is literally changing the definition of words now to try to not seem wrong. How sad.

Sorry, I may have replied to the wrong person. It was supposed to go to the guy asking for data under mine. But it was not directed to anyone specific, but to those who want proof. its simpler to test it yourself. I don’t know if I could lay it out good enough with screenshots and text for it to be acceptable anyway. And I’m not going to record/edit myself and post it online. I dont know how to prove it otherwise.

And yes I am, I’m putting forth a claim. Just by observation. I did not record it at the time, I don’t record and gather data when I play. The only form of proof I have is the messages I sent in June to my friends and snaps of my inventory from what I got, also discussing the possibility of this to be true. I could not find a single source of the same happening at the time. And I’m not sharing anything from my snap and private discussions I had, also those pictures lack the context for it to be sufficient proof. It was to a friend that did not need it to be.

I deleted gear that was as bis+ that I got grinding the hard way. Just to play a meme spec before I quit with the most random combo I could find. Not only that, I don’t think people were going to do that at the time to have it happen. So now that people are in fact talking about it after months of not thinking of it, was confirmation enough for me. It couldn’t be another coincidence. So I tested one more time and yeah I got the same result. IL gladly give you the items. Even tho, it doesn’t prove anything.

I would hope that you may consider testing it. If you’re competent in laying it out as proof of it being fals or true. I would never waste this much time for a hinch. It was not a one time occurrence.

The election was rigged though

Im not surprised. Blizzard has no respect for their playerbase. Buy more skins or gtfo.

Didn’t read the blog but it’s not too hard to consider or too farfetched of an idea that blizzard puts weighted RNG into the game. A perfect example of this was rerolling stats on gear in D3. It was very obvious the rolls were all weighted and not truly random

Or even just look at thr occultist in d4 with preferred rolls.

Its not to hard to code preferred rolls into world drops if your below a certain threshhold of item power.

While I do agree, I seem to get good items early in a tier.

Consider relevance. If I get good items early. Items I get later get compared to it, so even if they are fine, they are “trash” compared to my good items early.

Also anecdotal evidence, I know, but I am lvl 94 and still getting decent drops, but my mindset is I try different things out. I still get unique drops are they worse rolls than my earlier one? Of course they are, that doesn’t mean there is an algorithm, it is just the things we choose to notice.

Around lvl 82 I went on a run where I got 4 uniques in the course of a couple of hours of play I even made a thread about how it was a “good night”.

Maybe you are right and there is some algorithm…there is a chance…but I would not bet on it being absolute truth.

Who wants tk carryy me and test this out?

Can you link the thread?

I just went into T4 last night and did a cellar to get a few upgrades. Was immediately given an 810 item power 2 handed sword

I been 100 for a week and still haven’t seen that necro shield.

Its the chinese forum in the OP

Oh sorry I thought it was on reddit for some reason I saw Chinese and I closed it instantly. I will use the translate, thanks.

Lidless Wall? Avarice game me mine.
Don’t think I will ever use it with my Blood Minion build though.

Blizzard tweaked the legendary drop rate repeatedly during D3 Reaper of Souls testing, most impactfully in the “doubled it” buff made permanent after the week-long second anniversary buff event in May 2014. The game (in D3v2 and RoS) also has a Pity Timer that ensures a player never goes more than about two hours without finding a legendary item.

So you’re saying they don’t have the ability or desire to manipulate the same in D4?

Yes that seems to be the current theme. Get all the stuff for builds you wont use. Happens with gear rolls, happens with aspects, happens with uniques. I have two tabs full of replica uniques I will never use. Meanwhile, the helmet I do use I have seen 3 total times and the shield I want to use I have never seen.
