Saw in the patch notes that the (long-overdue) buff to scoundrel’s leathers will apply the core skill tag to all trap and grenade skills.
I’m a console player so won’t be able to test this out on PTR, but if someone is interested, you might want to check and see if scoundrel’s leathers allows death trap to trigger both parts of the beastfall boots unique effect
I think infinite Death Trap can be achieved as Preparation’s 10s max CDR bug will be fixed…

Also with the new individual Ultimate cooldown temper, it’s likely that the cooldown percentage is higher compared to the general Ultimate cooldown temper. The playstyle will still require using Ultimate → Core Skill → Ultimate, but on console, you can simplify this by holding down two buttons simultaneously.
All cooldown still has a max value of 75% reduction. So it’ll still be a 15 second cooldown ultimate skill.

Thanks, that’s a really useful info. So, preparation will still be a must.
Absolutely - but after the first cast, the SL + beastfall boots combo will allow each subsequent cast of death trap to spend all of your energy and reset it’s own cooldown without the need for clumsily weaving in barrage or twisting blades.
Death trap being a core skill will also mean it benefits from skill ranks on gloves, ring of starless skies, and heir of perdition. Combined with the aspect that allows it to benefit from stun grenade benefits, it could well be the strongest rogue build in S7

Will test and compare the dmg of the following builds during PTR:
- Flurry Overpower + Death Trap: SL will double benefit w. +Core Skill lvl, unfortunately only manual cast Death Trap can trigger No Witness paragon in S7
- Twistblade Poison + Shadow Clone: full-screen Twistblade blast…
- (Maybe) Reinforced Rain of Arrow with smoother cast
