Having to use a 3rd party website to play optimally is a failure on your part Blizzard.
It makes Helltides a pain in the tookus and ruins them for me. I don’t want to be constantly looking between 2 screens while playing.
The vampire zones are great, most things are flagged and the mob density is high. Loot is a little extreme, but much more fun than Helltides by a longshot.
Use that mapping for Helltides and let us have fun playing.

If the mystery chests or living steel chests were really rewarding compared to other content I might disagree, but given the fact that there are better ways to get loot than mystery chests, and the fact that Varshan is the other half of the Duriel equation but way easier to farm for, I think you’ve got a good point. The chests should simply be visible on the map.

Ya before I could just ignore Helltides, but now with Living Steel, I am super annoyed.
I really wish it was placed somewhere else.
I want to farm Duriel, but the thought of doing Helltides ruins it for me.
They also really need a Solo Self Found mode, where the mats take 1/4 the amount, so you don’t feel like your wasting them if you don’t want to group up.

I have to agree. When I’m doing a helltide, I always have the helltides site open on my other screen. Hiding it in-game doesn’t make a lot of sense if the location can so easily be looked-up each time.

What is degrading is when you get to 300 cinders and go towards the living sttel chest only to have the game crash on you. Until they get this game crash problem solved it’s almost pointless to run helltides.

I think the only reason they don’t do it is because then, nobody would go after any except the mystery and steel chests. Most players don’t use the maps to find them, so they grab what they come upon.
Personally I think as long as there is at least 1 legendary in each chest people would still go after the cheap chests… assuming there was a chance for a good legendary in them.

Maybe if the regular chests also dropped Living Steel. I think that’s why most of us farm Helltides in season 2. We get so much loot from the Blood Harvest, no one does Helltides for loot.
Helltide really is by far the worst content in the game at the moment, and the devs know how to fix it since they did it with the green one. Just making helltide always have some whispers, high density, and permanent uptime (why the hell is half of the game time-gated?) would fix them. Ah and of course ALL chests should be visible in-game. The amount of 3rd party info one has to look for when playing this game is crazy.

The Living Steel chest location should just always be where the Helltide icon is on the map. Just like the council summons is always at the Blood Harvest icon.

They could also, you know, add a Group Finder and Matchmaking Tool in the game. Something incredibly basic and sorely missing. How does this ship without this, let alone make it into its second season with barely a mention? No, I do not want to join your stupid Discord.

why does every helltide topic come down to people griping about them?

there is nothing wrong with HT that isn’t prevalent in other parts of the game. the REAL problem is that in order to do Duriel, you have to get a “hidden” chest in content that you didn’t have to do.
If living steel dropped off the butcher, or dropped out of NMD, you’d all be complaining about the drops of that.
Stop complaining about HTs and say what you mean. You want more living steel so you can farm for more uber duriel and you dislike that you are either unskilled enough to get enough efficiently, or you don’t get enough because of the game mechanics.
If anything, they should remove Living Steel chests and make them a low rarity drop out of all other HT chests.
but on OP topic, I do find it kind of weird that the mystery chest and the LS chest are kept hidden off the minimap. Not sure what the motivation for that could possibly be other than to limit farming of high-end chests. the map websites makes it a moot point however.
Of course it does. Developers are lazy and let third-parties supply the tools they should have in their game.

Yeh, the invisible living chest bug did not help either.
But hey, we could only blame 3rd party tools for that right, nothing wrong if there is no exact location available in game?

I knew I’m not the only one that died during Helltides while looking at another window or screen looking for mysterious chest locations, and just that we lost half of our farm and time wasted.
