So, this is the second time this mechanic has taken a 3 passive GA amulet and completely bricked it. STOP PUTTING D*#KS IN THE SALAD!!!
Not playing this bulls*$t ever again… stop force feeding your players garbage that disrespects their time, OVER AND OVER!!!

Agreed, Sanctification REPLACING affixes is ridiculous.
1st time it bricked an amulet I had spent 3bil+ gold rerolling to have 2ga passive and +2 best offense: Sanct replaced Fortitude with max resource… almost quit
2nd time: bricked a 3ga ring … kept playing
3rd time: bricked a Shield… done for season and letting the 6 mythic prankster sigils rot in my stash if I don’t delete the toon before my friends can beg me to run them
was having so much fun with friends this season but how in the actual f* can randomly replacing an Affix be seen as any form of blessing… Im not Sanctifying bs in hopes it will reroll a crap affix into something useful here…. Im Sanctifying items I’ve already invested time in to make it worthy of use as is with hopes that Sanctification will make it Ultimate…not a door stop
Fishing better be done right and if there isnt a loot filter soon I wont be back. not that it matters to anyone but myself and my friends.. Blizzard sure doesn’t care.

Sanctification is not required. It is an optional thing. COMPLETELY optional. You’re not being force fed anything. You can craft an item exactly how you want with infinite tries at the smith and occultist. The ONLY risk comes from Sanctification with the possible rewards being minor stat increases or the much wanted mythic affix.
This is risk vs reward, and the only part in the crafting process where it’s a thing. Sometimes you roll big, sometimes you crap out. The entire crafting process holds your hand now and has bumper safety rails. And it’s entirely unneeded unless you’re trying to chase extremely high pit or tower placement. I have bricked so many legendaries and went “ah man, oh well let me try one of the other 3 in my stash” but never did I feel like it was the game personally attacking me. That’s just silly when I’m the one who took the risk.
If you don’t want the risk of losing an affix on a piece of gear that’s perfect for your build, don’t get tempted to throw it into the sanctification forge unless you’re completely prepared for it to be bricked by the >only< way to brick an item currently in the game. If it bricks, you did it. Not the game, not the devs, not your friend. You. No one is forcing you to sanctify an item because you want it to possibly get +10% lightning damage.
It’s on you, man.
