Rupture with Third Blade

Has anyone gotten Third Blade and tried a Rupture build using Brawling Skills with Ravenous to spam Rend? Curious to know how Boiling Blood scales end-game since it changes Rupture to a Core Skill which always Overpowers.

Also, Inevitable Fate. Is it any good actually? I have played with it and cannot tell or see the explosions. It says when enemies get below 35% HP they explode every 7 seconds for every Element they are affected by. Does Physical Damage count as an Element, so does it work with Bleed or is it only if you use Freeze Chance Temper, Hellhammer, Andariels, Doombringer, Azurewrath, Penitent Greaves, and Frostburn? Lastly, if enemies die, I assume this doesn’t work? Seems like a neat idea, I don’t see the point of having the 35% HP trigger restriction given it only explodes once for each element every 7 seconds.

just forget about it , the damage is so low

No, that’s not what it says

Aspect of Inevitable Fate Effects

“When an enemy falls below 35% Life while afflicted with any of your Damage Over Time effects, an explosion occurs every 7 seconds, dealing X damage for each element that they’re afflicted by”

I’ve used it. It’s OK, it’ pretty cool in the Infernal hordes, I would Charge/Rend/Rapture the whole screen of quick dying mobs when they are next to a big tougher mob and it would all explode everything into oblivion. For single target use it’s not all that useful.

So, Bleed (Physical) works but it should also work with other things that cause damage over time effects and those I have not been able to test (like burning or poison or wahtever other classes use for DoTs).

Inevitable Fate is a cheaper version of XFal. Any damage over time tag should work. Bleed included. What I want to know is order of operation. If Rupture kills with it’s effect, does the aspect proc?

The description says that the damage is compounded for each Element they’re afflicted by. If you had Physical, Burning, Cold, Poison, and Shadow (don’t know of a Lightning DoT Barb can apply) would the X value be multiplied by the amount of Elements - in this case x5 Max?

When an enemy falls below 35% Life while afflicted with any of your Damage Over Time effects, an explosion occurs every 7 seconds, dealing [ X ] damage for each element they’re afflicted by

Seems OP for Sorc and lackluster for Barb. We could get a max of 3 (bleed, poison, and burning) elements, and would have to use Andy + Hellhammer to get those 3.

All the other options for us (Azure, Doombringer, Ghor’s, Rakanoth, Frostburn, and Burning Rage) are direct damage, not dot.

  • Penitent is DoT
  • Freeze would count as affected by an element
  • Doombringer is a Shadow debuff

Freeze and the chill from Penitent are status effects, not dot, and Doombringer is direct shadow damage, not dot.

You need individual applications of dot for each element type, not different applications of elemental direct damage.

The tooltip is unclear which is why I was wondering. It is two parts:

Condition 1:

  • Enemies suffering from a Damage Over Time Effect
    Condition 2:
  • Explodes for each Element they are affected by every 7 seconds when an enemy drops below 35% HP.

I read that as long as you have any Damage Over Time Effect on them when the enemy drops below 35% HP, it will trigger the Explosion.

When it says Affected by, I take that to mean have an Elemental Status debuff, or taking DoT from any given Element. Freeze and Chill should both count as being Affected by Cold. Burning from Hellhammer would count as Affected by Fire, but Burning Rage would not since it is dealing DD. Doombringer would be iffy since it deals DD Shadow Damage and applies a debuff (not sure if this counts as a Shadow debuff). Andariels is Poison DoT so that should unquestionably work.

Just curious if this has been tested at max level with stuff.

“Afflicted” is the key part of the wording. It has to be separate elements of dot.

When an enemy falls below 35% Life while afflicted with any of your Damage Over Time effects, an explosion occurs every 7 seconds, dealing X damage for each element they’re afflicted by.

Well, that is just garbage then.

Come on, bro. Do up an Andy’s bleed Hellhammer build.

You got this.

You know, I might do it if I can get a perfect FOF with GA Lucky Hit. Will let you know how it blows. I mean goes.

I got a couple good Fists.

Still need Andy’s. I actually want to do a Blood Boil Rupture Andy’s build with 3rd Blade and Creeping Death.
