No thank you , i like them on gear so we just dont have boring gems like before . Now oyu can mix and match powers even though whats going to happen is Maxroll or Rob is going to come out and say these powers / runes are best and everyone will copy paste
ROFL ROFL ROFL are you for real now? On high life builds it matters a lot. What if I want more fortified life to do more overpower damage?
Well, they did remove max life from gems, so you won’t be getting life from gems in the future regardless which means they’ve designed the game around this change. Sounds like you can stop worrying about it.
I think we should wait and see how much fun the rune system they’ve made is before we judge it

Did you read the Patch notes? Rubys are now + Strength. There is no % Health any more.
The general stats of each gem level appear to stay the same. Also gem shards are used in transmuting Runes, so that have a use outside of being used in sockets. And there is a new Gem level, to allow gems to match the power creep.

I could understand that if op suggested transferring aspects to separate tab, from the gear, that would be reasonable, but runes… Well, d3 players… thats why it is so hard to discuss anything with them, zero experience in arpg. Always trash ideas, but they just don’t know how it could be different.
This might be of concern in a vacuum but there are so many other changes and balances happening that it’s kind of impossible to determine much right now. On a gameplay level we now have a choice of what to socket in gear which theoretically should be more interesting than just throwing rubys in every slot.
I’m guessing you didn’t actually look at the runes huh? They include defensives as well.

I did. I know about runes since late 23, because of Russia’s dataminers. I read all of them and their problem is they are conditional. Not sure, if the new gems will be enough, either. It is a topic to discuss. I see different reactions here and that’s what makes it interesting. We are discussing. Not arguing. There is a difference.
The Rune System is absolute garbage. I would like to have seen it work as a combination between Lost Ark Runes and Grim Dawn’s Devotion System. Runes can be slotted onto Skills which modify their behavior and give you new Skills depending on the Rune and what it is interacting with.
This gives you (6) Rune Slots that modify your 6 Skills on your Hotbar (you would be able to place Runes in Skills not on your hotbar also which would mean things like Ravenous that proc Rend would gain the Rune effect even though Rend is not on your Skill Bar).
In addition to these 6 Skill Runes, all players would gain an Empowered Rune Item Slot. This item slot would let you equip a “Runeword” which would combine multiple Runes in a sequence to create a Unique Runeword. These Runes would be able to be upgraded giving you better Passive and Attack bonuses. The effects given would be Unique and help to fill in holes for different builds (similar to what Seneschal Stones sort of did). This might look like something centered around Resource Generation, Fortify or Barrier Generation, Immunitu Bubbles, Mobility/Movement Skills, Lucky Hit Procs etc.
FYI they removed life from gems so you aren’t getting life on your gear from them regardless.
At this point, as long as I have something to socket into my jewelry I’ll be happy. I don’t need more armor or resistances, I’m capped out lol.
You might need more armor with the new difficultly changes.

That would have been nice. I also wanted to see socketable powers like in season 1. It would be great, if we could aslo get to MODIFY glyphs. F! Even why not corrupt them and if we do not like the outcome keep looking for the same glyph to attempt crafting it again and again… Give us more reason to grind!
Actually, after seeing this thread, I’d love to see some form of charms or legendary gems for jewelry slots. We will probably need all the extra resistances now from diamonds though with the new torment levels.

I think that skills should be drops! And then have sockets that you put these runes into to make the skill usable!
That seems like the best idea! Lock skills to drops from monsters that you need the skills to beat!
