I agree it should, but most of the respected streamers that I have seen aren’t putting their name in the hat. They are still going to race for the fun but not putting their name in for the prize.
Lol at all the sheep and fanboys here who actually agree with everything Blizzard does. Imagine completing in a speed run tournament and your opponents already know the game inside out and you are a fresh noob, how is that fair? I myself won’t be racing and gonna take my own pace but people defending this dog act is simply idiotic
It’s a trite response to trite complaints. Look over the forums. Complaints about every single cosmetic reward, complaints because they didn’t get the claw cosmetic, and so on.
It’s BLIZZARD!! How far under a rock would somebody have to live to not expect the same old crap from them by now lol? So yes, I feel like it’s valid to consider it a mental disorder for people to keep banging their heads against a wall expecting this company not to be shady as a willow tree when they’ve shown for years how they are.
It’s like constantly going back to a bad ex and being surprised they haven’t changed. It’s a least a decade of their stupidity at this point.
I feel like the guy does a good job. He leads a pretty open team that shares a lot of info that most other teams do not. They are out there communicating and listening.
One tiny misstep and everyone wants to burn the poor guy at the stake. It’s ok to share your opinion on something you feel passionate about, but to also bully someone is not cool.
I agree with OP on knowledge beforehand on how to survive and win boss fights and dungeons is an unfair advantage but disagree that how a producer shouldn’t be in this role if he doesn’t know this.
Many high ranking people in various leadership roles of organizations aren’t there cos they know everything the consumers or clients experience or issues they encounter. They’re there to lead the direction and get rid of roadblocks that various teams might encounter trying to achieve the direction.
My 2 obols
Imagine your in a math class, and about 10-20 students was able to see the actual test 10 days ahead of test day and others didnt. Those 10-20 students would be able to finish the math test quicker because they already know what was on the test while the other students have to learn as they go.
The streamers and reviewers who got to play 10 days early are those 10-20 students. It’s 100% an unfair advantage. I’m a little shocked at Rob’s response too, somebody has to give that man a mental health check or something lol.
It’s called your local union
I dunno about a mental health check but a swift kick in the butt for his twitter responses wouldn’t go astray.
This is clearly not meant for plebian players.
Even if it only affects 2% of the playerbase it’s still a BS decision from an AAA game / game developers which shows very poor understanding of the market, the players and the game itself. The comment of the lead developer was so out of touch it’s not even funny.
The average joe probably has the time and lack of real life responsibilities to make them a perfect candidate to be in the top 1000.
POE solved this by banning streamers from contests. If you get early access you are disqualified fron this type of event.
It is a game. There will are many advantages certain folks have over others. How does this differ from any other piece of hardware, software or service that folks get early access to?
Streamers are a plague stop giving them special privileges. All they do is cry about stuff to improve the game in a way that it helps with their monetary gain. Really do a lot to make games terrible.
I am almost certain you are not the only one who BELIEVES this. But that does not make it reality.
Rod’s reply is as unfortunate as infamous “don’t you guys have phones”. Pity. Guy seemed quite reasonable.
If you think that the 4-5 testers are going to stay up for 60+ hours straight, poop in a bucket, and eat 8,000 cals of cheetos a day out of the gate to claim less than a handfull of the spots among the 1000 to have their name carved into some concrete then you can just see it as the first 995 degenerates get their name on the statue instead of 1000.
It matters not.
This guy gets it…
if you exclude the unfairness or the competition, the bigger picture is the issue that the Dev of the game is oblivious of the problem they create…
so if you dont understand the problem you will never understand the solution
Pretty sure Rod knows. I’m just 100% sure he doesn’t care.
If you polled everyone who pre-purchased this game, 95% of them will have no idea what any of these 3 things are. These are manufactured “PR fails” by the looking for problems and don’t affect the vast majority of consumers of this game.
