I’m not Rob’s biggest fan, but I think this idea is really great.
i would support this method much more than the actual uber crafting, but make it 1 uniqe 1 shard, uber 100 shards , and crafting a new uber 1000 shards, so its possible to craft one, but not too easy to get.
The very concept of ubers is broken, they just give more power we clearly don’t need. “Billion damage baby ?”. Yes, but to achieve what ? Big numbers for big numbers, that’s it.
It’s pointless and is not worth the time required.
Its pretty common on this forum to hate all streamers for some reasson. I think it comes from envy they played games for living.
The problem with Rob is that he mostly played D3 and D4, both kind of bad arpgs. He is requesting changes with those games in mind without deep knowledge of what makes an arpg replayable and enjoyable for a long time.
But what about his proposal?
- Normal Unique → 1 Shard
- Uber → 50 Shards
- 200 Shards → Uber
I don’t even think I over 100 unique played 3 seasons and with multiple level 100 characters. Out of all unique, I got 0 uber unique, well, if you think Tempest Roar is one, then that’s 1.
At this time, they should just fire the D4 teams and give us the refund.
Literally everyone outside of the Blizz devs has better ideas on this subject.

Just concentrate on what he’s proposed, that Uniques can be converted to Sparks.
SCRSCRSCR explains exactly what this streamer does, milking non-existent D4 content for money, because noone else does other than 1 or 2 guys.
Here’s a better suggestion:
Remove all Uber Uniques from the game completely.
They cause far more issues than they resolve anyway from a statistical standpoint as well as development time.
Scrapping (insert number) of Uniques allows you to craft 1 Unique of your choice.
This would give players the ability to work around long unforgiving periods of crap RNG results allowing them to eventually play the builds they want to enjoy.
I am sure better ideas can be made but it didn’t take me 5 seconds to think this up and it’s a hell of a lot better than the idea the Dev team implemented.
you know you can get uniques outside of duriel also right? or did you forget that?
Only drop from Ilvl 900+ would be recommend. This way it becomes an end game system

There’s 0 challenge in this current implementation… If you mean grind, that’s different, and even so, you gotta remember, a Season is 90 days, and 95% of the player base has limited time to play. There should be a grind, but a realistic one. As this is, realistically speaking, for the overall player base, Uber Uniques are still non-existing, same as they were Season 0 and Season 1, before “they increased the drop chance” and made them “farmable”.

Basically, if this is for everyone, they need to look at average number of uniques/ubers per season for the average person & adjust according to that, not streamer/no lifer metrics.
Otherwise whats the point of this patch. To make the rich richer & lose even more goodwill?
Hope they figure this out for everyone, not just the 1%.
