Reverse the Sorcerer Firebolt and Devouring Blaze nerf. Buff the others enchantments

what damned build diversity are you talking about?
You can’t have build diversity is the damage is worthless…
the sorcerer problem is DAMAGE.
as long as the 3rd enchanment does not come back
as long as we don’t get two extra rings
as long as we do less elemental damage than all classes: sorcerer will be worthless class and a waste of time.

They claimed that the reason they were nerfing firebolt enchant and devouring blaze was to enable build diversity. D4 Devs words not mine.

By the look of the campfire chat, looks like meta is going be lightening for Sorc in S7…

Specifically, ball lightening lol

doesn’t matter anymore, this game has strayed too far from Diablo. it feels more like ‘kill our mama and hunt our grandpa,’ with no sense of urgency and tension to save the realm from the impending doom of Diablo, Lord of Destruction.

They’re only showing a tiny fraction in the campfire chat. There are always more items, buffs….and nerfs.

true, but i thought they pick and choose, what is shown are the “highlights” no ? lol

Ball Lightning is actually coming back since grounded after season 2 and 3.

This is a key point. A sorc build that’s cold-based or lightning-based should NOT need a source of burning to do more damage. That is the issue.

So, I don’t mind that they removed it from firebolt, but change things so that the damage for non-fire sorcs is still there.

yeah go watch again. all the other classes were 1shotting. the sorc ball lightining thing took FOUR hits to kill a trash mob. Meta for sure!!!

i personally liked the class meta that weaving multiple elements gives more damage. Sad to see it go but i can accept it IF they compensate for the damage loss. so far nothing they have shared does that.

Yeah this is nearly word for word of what I said after the midseason campfire, fully expecting further changes in the patch notes that made it better… guess what… nada

I will not repeat that mistake I will scream my concerns to the hells and hope to Diablo that they understand how alarmed sorc players are at what they announced, and take stock of how badly they are hurting the class with these changes and maybe just maybe take some corrective action.

So lets just do the facts these nerfs hurt elementalist and the legendary node on the new paragon alone so now we will not be getting a constant 15% increase from both. Second, flamefeeder was stronger then the eliminator glyph so again we are getting weaker. All frost and lightning builds will be lucky to be able to clear even a 90 pit if lucky. They should just provide us with a what was it a 2200 burning dmg for free. That way we all get burning dmg and then that 1 enchantment slot is free to use. That is a fix how quick who knows, but i bet they revert this cause they won’t have the necessary changes for the rest of class to make us powerful enough. Diablo dev’s we can’t do above 106 pit unless using shatter bug that makes us the weakest class not the second strongest wake up and play the class dumbasses.

I doubt it… past experience tells me the reply from Blizzard will be something like, “We’re pleased to see so many sorcerer(ess) players found new ways to play without Firebolt”. The fact they dropped 5-10 pit levels will be ignored. The fact they struggle to get into T3, let alone T4 will be swept under the rug with the lame “T1 is end game” retort.

Yeah, that remind the Necromancer Minions was grounded at the beta and Blizzard saying “Minions do well”. LMAO

It’s clear nobody at Blizzard has a clue how math works. And anybody who cares about the player experience has no say in what the designers cram into (or rip out of) the various classes.

if you see the notes, the flavor of the month for season 7 will be the barb, so they need somehow to stir players towards that, hence the nerf in the firebolt.

Sorc is probably dead in season 7. It doesn’t look like sorc got any buffs to compensate for the loss of all the burning effects. Not only that, it seems like Blizzard is really trying to force pure single element builds by changing some of the passives that say burning damage to just pyro skills.

Hopefully the PTR will show the shortcomings of the sorc and they will get fixed when season 7 goes live, but we all know Blizzard will just ignore feedback and ship them out as is.

Personally I like being a strict element like pure Cold, Fire or Lightning but do wish they’d make a skill that uses random elements with it’s attack, like an Arcane school that when hitting does either Lightning, Fire or Frost damage.

they only way a sorc can do decent damage is:
-increasing conjuration mastery
-using lightning spear with conj mastery and unst corr 100% CD
-with fire bolt enchant + devouring blaze or familiar + dev blaze

as you can see, burning damage enchant is essential for sorcerer.
when you take that away from a sorc without buffing the other skills, it will render it even more useless…
certainly, these devs have no fnk idea of what they are doing.
like i said many times, sorcerer problems is lack of damage
