My brother and I have noticed some strange things similar to that from time to time. Since we co-op a lot, we were not sure if that was the cause (this has to be the buggiest co-op game I have played)
In your case, it sounds like it is stuck like that?
Our case was like that for a day and them went away. Has happened about 3-4 times since Pits were introduced.
