Don’t waste you time with Shivera and Nyurei, they seem a lot like they are part of PR / Troll team from blizz.
All I get from them is: Game is good, it’s you that’s the problem. New commers, don’t listen to this, buy the game and get as many cosmetics as possible.
Ignoring them and maybe being a little rude to them might help the rest of us.
This game has serious balancing issues. Don’t listen to Shivera and Nyurei.
Curious, how much damage reduction do you have in other stats, close/distant, max res cap increase (Tyreals/incense), damage reduction (shield/shako), paragon nodes?
I think the assumption is armor cap (easy) and res cap (not too hard), then to figure out how to get more overall damage reduction.
Considering DR Affix is not on gear any longer, there are not really a whole lot of Affixes that are Defensive or add to your EHP. Dodge is an easy way of avoiding damage passively and you do not need to make much investment into it. 20% Dodge means 1 in 5 Direct Damage hits does 0 damage. With Dexterity in your Paragon, that is very easy number to achieve.
Some classes have access to Barrier as part of their Skill Tree instead, or in addition to having access to Dodge. Combined they help a lot. Everyone has just been so laser focused on stacking Overpower Critz they forgot about everything else.
What gets me are the noob trolls who come here complaining about something, and when a better player try’s to help them, their heads explode in anger. Part of their problem is not listening.
We are less than 1 week into the season and it’s natural that the upper content is kicking your a$$. It’s very likely the best gear you find this season will be found in the coming weeks. If you listen and apply what you have learned to your new gear, modify your skills and paragon boards accordingly, you may increase your play above what you are experiencing today…
Gotta build some defense. I have about 30k life, 25k barrier with 100% uptime on it, and 40% DR, and I haven’t encountered anything that can oneshot me (except deep pit level elite telegraphed attacks)
I continued playing until the pit level 42 and I’m pretty much done at level 98 barb. I got poisoned and drank all 9 potions and it reminded me of imbalanced diablo 3 inferno, like that straight up disgusted me.
That bs just isn’t fun and feels like gated content. Don’t get me wrong, I also didn’t like uber tristram in D2 and thought that was also overtuned way back in the day because it feels like gated content. There’s grindy endgame and then there’s just straight up bs that isn’t fun.
Endgame content doesn’t need to be this overtuned and the early/mid game doesn’t need to feel THIS easy. They just can’t get the formula correct.
Like, why the hell are you scaling enemies, then make them over-leveled to 200, and cap player defenses? Am I missing something?
Also where the hell are the uniques that are supposed to make your character get a buff so you CAN do the content? Like, I’ve found plenty of unique items for barb, can’t seem to find 1 hander sword though, they’re still garbage though its mind boggling…
I’m running tuskhelm of joritz at +3 aggressive resistance, 22.5k health and rage of harrogath that has a reg maxroll on its DR% and I’m still getting rolled in the pit level 42 like I’m made out of glass.
Weird take, because I’ve never bought any of the in-store cosmetic, only the $3/season Battlepass, which I got for free via leftover WoW Tokens anyways.
And yes - the problem is you. When you complain about being unable to complete Pit 61 (on Eternal), then refuse to answer basic build/class/item questions - you aren’t truly seeking any sort of assistance. That’s a you problem.
a tad low. makes mods like %armor or aspects like +x% armor per hit lose a lot of value.
my barb’s armor is capped with one %armor mod and zero armor related aspect.
I have 17k health, Armor Capped, resists almost capped. As a barb, Lilith does not one shot me anymore – but holy bejebus does she seem to soak a lot more damage now. Hitting in the millions used to shred her, now it just slowly ticks away.
That’s all well and good but I think this is overlooking the grand question - Is this FUN for the majority of players? I get the gigabrains get off on stuff like this to show superiority and whine when a game caters to more casual minds and reflexes, but catering to 2% of the playerbase never works out well. If there’s this much care that has to go into the very tip of the endgame, that’s not mass audience appealing and in the long run is bad for investors which is almost all that matters with publicly traded companies.
Same here but with dmg redu from harlequin, tyrael might and basic reduction dmg when hit, having 70k hp and 70k fortify still getting one shot at andariel lv200. Lilith is not one shooting me, neither duriel (lv200).
How is this catering to the 2% of player base? I am a new father with a 6 month old and a full-time career and business I run. I can maybe play 4-8 hours an entire week at most. I do not read Maxroll, Icyveins, or hop in Discords and have figured this out myself. There are very little mechanics not visible to players such as how effective Armor scales that I had to look up.
This game is pretty damn casual friendly. Go try to play PoE or Grim Dawn and check the difference.
Bro, you’re delusional or humblebragging. You can’t truly believe without some sort of fog clouding reality for you that the dissertation you wrote about end game effort is in any way close to anything Joe/Jane average gamer has any interest in dealing with.
How is possible to play / engage with D4 only 4-8 hours a week and you have 2661 post on this forum? It sounds like your job is to engage in the forums more than enything.
