umm no ARPGs include leveling. so you must play the game as it is. im not trying to force anything on anyone. i happen to like the way it is and i am expressing that much in the same way you expressed that you dont like it. The difference is im not asking for anything to be changed, so who is wanting to force anyone to do anything here?
PS with the time you have wasted in this tbhread you could be l30 from 0

I couldn’t care less if they remove leveling or not TBH. Playing or not playing Diablo 4 does not change my life in anyway shape or form. Personally I think Diablo 4 still pales in comparison to D2 LOD which I still play to this day. Blizzard however does care because more players equals more money, which equals a higher development budget.
yes i was in the middle of a 7 chars to hell run in PD2 when the D4 paladin and the POE Druid dropped and interupted me
I agree 100% that D2 is a far superior game to D4, and im baffled that you could hate leveling so much since in d1 and d2 leveling was pretty much the game.
You seem to be either really confused or trolling

Leveling in D2 is irrelevant. The monsters don’t scale with the player and player stats are irrelevant once you have the minimum stats to equip your gear. D2 was all about the gear grind. That’s why it still holds up to this day.

What more do you want?? 300 model or PTR devil.
leveling is absolutely relevant in d2 up to a point but you are right after 80 or so it loses all meaning
Yep. I do enjoy level scaling tbh it keeps things relevant. I think that is the biggest issue with D3/D4 is that gear grind. Everything in D4 is legendary, now they even have gobbos that drop 5 mythics plus a spark.
D2 also did a much better job with balance but its best era was 1.08-1.09 prior to runeword powercreep. Farming runes was boring af.
D2 leveling wasn’t irrelevant as much as D3/D4 because it was a journey. Each level you got stats and skill points which make you feel like that level made a difference.

Here’s my Season 11 experience:
Make a Necro. Stand in town staring at the map for 10 minutes with no clue where to start.
Port to a Helltide and immediately get one shot. Wow this is fun.
Go into the open world to do whispers. Spend 2 minutes killing one white mob. Drops nothing. Spend 2 minutes killing the next white mob. Drops nothing. Level up.
Spend an hour to complete a single whisper because I do zero damage. Get to level 11 and I’m over it.
Uninstall
Lower your difficulty. This is a self-imposed issue.
yeah this person seems to have a clue about d2 which tells me D4 is not hard for them, which means this whole thread is a troll or an excuse to say D4 bad.

D4 has been bad for a long time. They have made poor decisions since day 3 of S3.
Now some things in S11 are positive but it has a long way to go to be anything more then a D3 mediocre clone.
I do agree this guy is trolling.

Or hear me out……
Diablo 4 just sucks to level. It’s not fulfilling or rewarding or even the least bit entertaining. It’s like your girlfriend promising sex after you build her a house. Sure the sex is fun but not building a house fun
agree! so much more to do, but im encouraged by recent things so here is to hoping they keep improving it
oh and that they make leveling more meaningful. Some items that scale or level with you would be pretty cool. Imagine finding a legendary at l20 that you can still use in endgame instead of throwing it away in 15 min.

This is already the problem. If you don’t know what you’re doing, don’t click the the little checkbox that says “Skip the Campaign”.
Play the Campaign. It’s the fastest way to level, and directs you on where to go and what to do.
Not knowing how to play the game, and the game lacking any direction at all are two very different things. I’ve done the campaign several times already and cleared every level of content. Previous seasons had an entire seasonal quest line and objectives that apparently they just don’t do anymore.

lol example aside… i do agree that the leveling could be much more meaningful, but removing it is not likely to make the game better. Do you honestly feel the “endgame” offers enough on its own to even be worth playing?
I actually enjoyed the endgame the few seasons I actually sucked it up and leveled. Tempering was annoying AF but I heard they finally fixed it and was looking forward to trying it out.
But honestly no amount of endgame enjoyment could ever get me to go through that leveling process again. The only way I’m playing another season is if they sell character boosts or eliminate leveling completely
Now your really trolling. No one is going to buy something to skip 2-4 hours of gameplay.
Your acting like getting to lv 60 in D4 is the equivalent of getting to lv 99 in D2.
I’m sure the process of leveling is very fast when you do it on day 1 with a group.
Unfortunately not everyone plays in a group and leveling solo is like pulling out your own teeth. I’ve never liked group play and very much enjoy the solo self found gameplay. But I won’t subject myself to willing torture with zero rewards
Then the focus should be to make lvling fun and rewarding. Not removing it.
Indeed. That should be possible.
