This is absolutely false. A chargeback or refund does affect your credit score. I’m really interested though where you got this information from…
Last month I had ordered multiple items from Lowes while renovating my kitchen. In the time span of two weeks I had Lowes refund me a total of about $1800 because two items were damaged when they were delivered and one because my measurements for the single bowl stainless sink were 1/8 of an inch off. My credit score did not change whatsoever.
There’s a difference between having the company refund you and having your credit card refund you, which is called a chargeback. Graves (the person I was responding to) was talking about chargebacks made by the credit card company. Returning a purchased item to the vendor and having them actually refund you won’t ever hurt your credit score, forcefully making your credit card company do it can though, as I described.
Tell us the real reason why you purchased it. If you purchase a game, which you already tried it few months ago for free and after 5 minute you want a refund, then there is something fishy or…as you said, you are toxic…in general.
This is 100% on you.
…sorry, 110%.
