Really slow donwloading/updating speed WOW/DIV

Hi,

I have encountered an issue with updating my client in the last hour. My internet connection is functioning properly, but the battle.net client is downloading at a very slow speed (10-100 kb/s).

I attempted to download World of Warcraft (WoW) as an alternative since I cannot play Diablo IV, but I encountered the same problem.

Could you please confirm if this is a widespread issue or if it is specific to my client?

Thank you in advance.

Same, I can’t download the frickin patch as it comes with 10 bytes a second >.< Guess this’ll be today’s show of how I’m not gonna be playing again.

same here, it spikes up to 10mb/s a second (I have gigabit), but then drops back down and stays in the 50-80kb/s range.

Same issue here, and honestly im considering refunding D4 over this. I love the game, allot, but a 70$ title with crippled updates ? im sorry but for the price their asking, it doesn’t leave room for huge errors like this.

What region are you guys?

Im in Central Europe Hungary

Same here, cannot download wow, Poland

Still happening now with the update today. This is REALLY annoying.

I have the same issue but managed to get the update by using “check for updates”.

Same here. Downloading at like 1990 dial up speeds. Really annoying. Speed tested my isp, no issues. NA east.

Did you try changing the download settings in the Bnet? Or swapping regions for a bit then swapping back?

Hi nicole, i think there is really an issue with battle net server in some region, i am from SEA(Malaysia), usually i can finish the update very quickly, like in 5-10 mins.

i changed the download settings back and forth but nothing works. You cannot change region for diablo 4. After almost 3 hours of update, im still at 55mb/135 mb.

Please let the tech devs know… there is something wrong with the server.

Click on the diablo settings (bnet client), and uncheck the limiter for download speed.

Yo, 1988 called, it wants it dial up speeds back.

EDIT: I don’t know if it was a coincidence or not, but perhaps it’s a bug with the Blizzard Launcher. My download speeds were NOT limited, but I checked to limit it and set it to 9999999 and it instantly maxed out my speeds and finished,

Couple of things to try:

  • Turn off hardware acceleration in the bnet app settings.

  • Set a limit of 99999 for the download and upload speeds for updates.

You don’t need it that high, 99,999 or just 99999 will do.

I’m having the same issue. Stuck at 7% on this update…

Does it really matter?

It might for some systems.

99999 is just capping it to 800MB basically.

And now Bnet keeps closing on it’s own.
