The rerolling system as it is currently is way too punishing and seems a bit bugged in some forms. My experience thus far has been really unmotivating, I hit level 100 and had some BIS items in my stash waiting to be upgraded. I spent over 250 mil trying to reroll my boots to have berserk duration and my 2h sword stat stick to have all stats, and never once hit either of those affixes. Its always the same affixes over and over, dodge chance on boots, strength on the sword, there seems to be some blocking of affixes going on or some affixes are weighted too heavily. Not to mention that the amount of gold each reroll gets out of control way too quickly.
The reroll system needs to show which stats can be rerolled onto an item and if there are any sort of weights behind those affixes. The amount of gold per reroll needs to be decreased to -50% per reroll.
Before any comments on “the game needs a goldsink.” Yes, we understand that and I agree, but in its current form its way to punishing with too many questions behind how the reroll system actually works.
Edit: to clarify, I’m on my 2nd pair of boots and 3rd 2h sword stat stick, still no luck on the affixes I want. So I’m not just rerolling to 10 mil each click.

I agree. The price needs reducing and there needs to be a way to see the possible rerolls, a la D3.

D3 had fair scale up on the pricing.
Also, and most important, they give you a choice of three affixes from the one you are rerolling to choose from not just to like they do in D4.
And they showed you what are the possible outcomes of you rerolling an affix.
They need to make Helltides revolving instead of hourly or give us another way to get forgotten souls, This is my number 1 problem at the moment, it is super frustrating that I am pretty much sitting on gear that needs re-rolling and am stuck behind a system that tries to force me on at certain times.
The density of monsters in helltides definitely needs increased too. If helltide is to be considered an endgame mechanic (which it is) it is way too easy and not challenging at all currently.
I Agree
But it seems i need pointers how to farm gold:)
There is definitely something very, very wrong with the enchant system. It’s either just completely bugged, or someone hugely screwed up the chances to roll certain affixes.
Sometimes it plays in your favour, e.g. you’re basically guaranteed attack speed and crit chance on gauntlets, some really good weapon affixes are extremely common etc., but if you want something different you’re just throwing away millions to see the same 2 affixes roll forever and bricking items by giving them absurd reroll costs. For some slots the “guaranteed” rolls are thorns and other useless crap. Ugh.
This is really bad, I’d like to see the chances of all affixes equal or at least reasonable. I also think our bricked items should have their costs reset because this was extremely unfair to people who engaged with this utterly broken system and wasted millions, time, effort and ultra rare BIS items.
The cost of enchanting is just too high, spending 20m and still not getting the affix you need just feels awful. I loot and sell everything and you don’t make that gold back fast. It makes me use the system less, often opting to vendor minor upgrades if I don’t hit the affix I need in a few tries.
I agree, it’s especially punishing to Barbarian class.
How would you feel if the Occultists’ offered 1 of each possible affix but the # was random? If they keep it at 1-shot…
I think that would be better than having to throw the baby out with bathwater every time you don’t get what you need?
You might roll a low value but at least it’s in the right vein rather than some other random unhelpful affix, this I think would feel way less punishing!
thoughts?
Blizzard hasn’t fixed this because they (or at least the dev team) are involved in back alley deals with websites that glitch farm and sell Diablo 4 Gold. Just like they profited in secret from Item Selling Sites/Dupes in Diablo II. Blizzard is a corrupt company. Don’t @ me, I’m right about this.
