Ray tracing makes no difference and kills computer

The fact that D4 is not the latest and greatest is why I say this. There is nothing about this game that can come anywhere near bottlenecking an I9-13900k paired with a 4090.

No? So you don’t get 37 FPS dips after all?

Troll on I guess.

No as mentioned the highest I saw was 23. In addition, the FPS issues are 100% not hardware related and is due to the poor programming and optimization of the game. If you can’t see that then you are clearly the troll here.

Optimizing costs $$ and developer time. Optimizing for consoles is easy, 1 profile and done. Optimizing on PC is a completely different beast, as there are virtually unlimited combinations.

You are using optimization as a blanket term/ conspiracy theory, because you obviously have little to no technical aptitude.

Good thing they charged everyone full price for the game and charged out the wazoo for items in the shop and have made hundreds of millions of dollars off of the people they paid to do their jobs. They have no excuse and its actually pretty sad that you are defending that. It does not matter what system it was on it should have been fully optimized for each when the features release. Not having it done is poor management and laziness.

Seems like you have said. I spent money. It runs bad. That’s not my fault.
Bliz fix.

Nobody but you picked your hardware.
Nobody but you maintains your system.
Nobody but you has control over what you know and don’t.
Nobody but you can take the initiative and learn.

Nearly 100% of the time in IT, the issue is with the person behind the keyboard.

But RT runs pretty poorly on consoles as well, based on those that tried it on XB that chimed in to this and the other thread. So “not very well optimized” would be the correct conclusion.

LOL Ya except its the people behind the keyboards at Blizzard and the management tellign them to rush things. My system runs perfect. I run Cyberpunk ULTRA 4K better then D4 LOL. They have no excuse and you are failing so hard at being a white knight it is funny.

It can push the limits of what is possible on console, yet be hamstrung by it, because PC is a horse of a different breed.

They were afraid to put in the zoom expansion for fear it would completely crush the fps on console.

Sure it does. lol

I found that ray tracing does have an impact on visuals, but it’s not in the areas you’d typically expect. You’re primarily going to notice it in the softer, more blurred shadows and not a whole lot else. The most “noticeable” impact would be that screen space reflections are more accurate, but in the heat of combat you’ll likely have your attention elsewhere rather than on a slightly more accurate reflection of a lightning bolt. Where you’ll get much more noticeable impact in visuals and much less of a performance hit is enabling full ambient occlusion. That makes scenes look much better than anything ray tracing introduces.

D4 is isometric so ray tracing isn’t the greatest solution for lighting compared to the performance cost. It’s mostly in there for giggles.

I9 13900K @ 5600 MHz
Strix OC 4090 RTX @ 3000 MHz
48 GB DDR5 @ 7200 MHz

I have also deactivated RT again. I have to look very closely to notice a graphical improvement, but the performance suffers. Jerks as soon as i move. The frametimes are very inconsistent. Otherwise, if i stay within an environment, the fps remain constant at 116 where i have limited them for 120hz gsync.

Do you run framegen, what resolution?

4080, 5800X3D and 32gb DDR4 3200 and I have consistent 100 FPS in all areas at 1440p.

Framegen?

I play 120hz@4K and every setting maxed out

I don’t use ray tracing. I’ve heard of it killing comps. How do you know if your pc is dying tho?

Why wouldn’t you use framegen with a 4090 and ray tracing? 4k also hits performance hard. Unless you have a 4k monitor do not mix ray tracing and 4k without framegen.

ah you mean dlss3. yeah used with RT. but no more with no RT

Framegen helps a ton. You should enable it with a rig like yours. Just make sure Nvidia Reflex is enabled too. Framegen or not.

without RT i have enought FPS without framegen. no need them. the inputs are a lot directly without dlss3

Even with Reflex enabled?
