Quest: Of Pests and Pestilence
Quest Giver: Meav
Location: Scosglen, The Shrouded Moors, Tirmair
Meav wants the player to go out into the Shrouded Moors Region and slay (75) Stinging Swarms. Unfortunately, the Stinging Swarms that currently exist in the area do not count toward the Quest and those that do spawn do not count toward this objective.
The Quest is unable to be completed due to this at this time.
Yea I put also a report about that Grunty. Insecticide also in french 
I can find and kill the swarms but get no credit for it! This quest worked on my Necromancer but is broken for my Paladin.
Don’t work for me on PC and the Druide.

I’m not sure if this is because Maev asks for the ‘Stinging Swarms’ to be slain, and only ‘fly swarms’ spawn.
You got to kill the stingy ones. I found them doing the events near the greed shrine.
I only am finding fly swarms, no stinging swarms

I thought the problem had been fixed. I was near the area and tried the quest. I managed to kill some flies, and my counter went up to 35/75, then it stopped counting. I teleported to the nearest town and tried to come back, but it didn’t work. I quit the game and restarted my PC. It still doesn’t work. I even quit the game in the fly section and repeated the process, but the counter still doesn’t count the flies killed. Could someone try this to see if you get the same result?
I delete the quest after search ALL the blue zone and nothing goes more then 35/75. I take the quest again and go to the red zone near Tirmair and nothing after killiing the flies. Im now at 0/75. Delete the quest again and I see tomorrow to take it again 
Im also encountering this broken quest, very frustrating
On Xbox Console, the swarms are currently not showing either.
The issue with the quest is that the area’s spawn list seem to have been updated and the actual Stinging Swarm enemy has an extremely low chance of appearing and, instead, massive amount of Fly Swarms spawn in its stead (which doesn’t count toward the quest). The spawn rate for a group of Stinging Swarm is less than 5% (monsters spawns as group) which makes the act of killing 75 of those a massive pain in the rear. Your best bet currently is to run Feral Den or Twisted Hollow and hope that it spawn in one of the rooms.
In case some (or the devs) wonders, the list was update due to the seasonal event which introduced new variant of the werewolves/lycant types of enemies. (Those fiery paws enemies that weren’t in the area before this season is the cause.)
Ho, and I did see them spawn in the upper edge of the Highland Wild in small numbers one extremely rare occasion.
i found a few outside of the quest area but they did not count towards the quest, assumedly because they were in a different subzone
Found some north of the red zone in a yellow circle with Varyana with the most kill for the win. Give me 6 to climb to 20/75 but that it.
2/1/26 I’ve tried to complete this one too for the last couple of days. Cleaned out the whole area and nothing spawned but I did get 6 today just outside the town but that was it ;-(2026-01-01T13:00:00Z
