So is it just me that has experienced this Treasure Goblin where as you hear the little creature, see it, attack it, fire at will nothing happens, it just sits there calmly opens a portal and steps inside and is gone? Please fix.

I’ve experience this before, I hink it’s just a glitch. Also, there are certain times when the goblin’s timer ends, no matter what you do or how much damage you inflict, it will open the portal and leave.

Yep this…once it gets to the point of opening a portal you can do nothing to kill it.
Yeah iv gotten that a bunch of times or ill kill the goblin and it drops nothing.
Can confirm, it’s been around probably since treasure goblins have been around in D4. It’s probably the purest expression of D4 wasting player’s time… and I don’t expect they’ve acknowledged the problem & given assurances it’s being ‘fixed’, which in turn is the purest expression of Diablo studio PR.

Glitch. I have encountered some like that. It happens. Sometimes due to someone else triggering it, you find it again but it reached the time limit for being out.

Not quite true. What you’re seeing is a goblin that’s already ‘gone’ from the server but appears on your client still.
You can stun / interrupt a Goblin that you personally see open a portal.
Chase it down with a mount after triggering it will cause this. Same when someone else does it and you happen across his exit teleportation animation sequence.
The truth has to lie somewhere in between… b/c I’m 99% sure I’ve stumbled onto one, then it does the portal animation, then it ignores all interaction & disappears. For example, the whole animation (before & after portal) could be the ghost.
I’m reminded of Helltide notifications (& corresponding map coloration) persisting for whole minutes after Helltide is over, so it seems plausible to me.
Ofc it could be that 1%, and I’d have to go back & farm them to see, but… yukh.

There are so many bugs that have existed for so long that we’re all able to describe them in great detail and know what each other are refering to.
Man, if this wasnt a freeware game by an indie studio we would sure have something to complain about.
Nope…it is not possible once it has started opening the portal…tried many times to no avail.
