Pvp is needed or game will die

They really need to add pvp dungeons you can invade and fight over loot like Tomb of the Vulture Lord from Land of the Dead expansion of Warhammer Online Age of Reckoning.

That game was so far ahead of its time. Miss it every day.

PvP is a complete dumpster fire. Balance issues aside it’s broken at it’s core because higher level people can come in and just one-shot everyone…there is zero scaling between players.

Why dont y’all fight one another? I’ll come watch.

But people who are higher level are just stronger and better people.

Like it or not, a vast majority of gamers (in any genre) don’t like PvP.

In my experience, it tends to bring out the worst in people.

I PVP in OW2 since that game has no gear-dependence.

D4 is a dungeon crawl ARPG, and its PVP is more of a side-activity than a main focus for the bulk of the players.

The only thing that I’d rather see more of in D4 is a living trade economy where end-game items keep replay value very high. D2 set a bar in that category that is pretty hard to surpass.

PvP sucks, especially the e-sport garbage you are asking for. Go play a MOBA, you know, a game designed from the ground up around PvP.

In the immortal words of the great Fippy Darkpaw, ā€œYou’ve ruined your own lands, you’ll not ruin mine!ā€

I would love level/gear-scaled arena PvP that is actually balanced

Alas, it will never happen.

Horrible take.

Tenchar

I fixed that for you

It always seems as soon as someone mentions pvp, all the anti pvp bugs come out.

There’s plenty of people who enjoy pvp from casual to hardcore. Plenty of ways to ā€œbalanceā€ pvp without balancing classes.

Why do people not want to see all aspects of this game succeed?

Seems a lot of people agree with me tho, based on the hearts

That’s a strange way to spell ā€œcompletely accurateā€ …

The game has the same PvP as D2. Free for all, unbalanced, gear based PvP.

D2 came out before people cried about things being unbalanced and unfair. How the world has changed in 20 years.

And it has, for decades, been shown to me that if people don’t speak out against the ludicrous claims of the PvP minority, that PvP winds up taking over game development … to the eventual and inevitable detriment of the game as a whole.

PvP and PvE are inimicable in any RPG. They cannot co-exist without one being detrimental to the other.

Nope.
A handful of abusive kids want PVP and even they don’t want real PVP - what they want is to be able to abuse low level players who can’t fight back.

Go back to screaming into your mic.

no thanks, I don’t need PVP… I’m quite sure, the game will not die due to missing PVP. The game has more important issues to address, like making more viable classes + builds for endgame content.

Bruh they cant even balance PvE what are you on about…

People just want to be correct. Idiots act like they didn’t enjoy spending time in PvP arenas in WoW or something.
Imagine if WoW had no PvP. You will have people who would stay to collect everything just to look pretty, sure, and then what? You’d get bored and probably take a break or join an RP server if you’re a degenerate (seems like the case for people who keeps saying PvP is a bad thing)

These same idiots will say, ā€œIt’s not a Diablo game, it’s not an action RPG game. blah blah.ā€
They don’t seem to understand PvP is the only true dynamic aspect of gameplay in MMO.

We know for a fact PvP can be fun when done properly, even if it’s not done properly it can give you hours upon hours of fun as you try and navigate your way around certain broken things.

When you got your a** handed to you by a much lower level, it makes you question what you are doing incorrectly, or what they’re doing better or different than you. Which opens up more goals in your mind while playing a video game. It’s basic psychology that many people can understand if they’re not an adolescent child.

It sounds like you’re a PVP player, and so you have a very different experience to PVE players. But the number one experience any non-PVP player has with PVPers is being one shotted by a player that’s so high level they are practically skull level for you. PVP players breed hatred for themselves and PVP in general – and rightfully so.
