Are DoTs not doing as much in PvP? Are people just better countering it with fortify/barrier and Curative Elixer? People must be getting DoT reduction on top because it’s no longer nearly instant death for me, I just use a potion or stealth heal through it and I noticed others not dying to poison TB much. I do the above but didn’t think others did, maybe it will change when resists work damn!
I think most barbs have gotten very good at coutnering. Just look at the TNT weekly tournament on Twitch with Barbs v Rogue rounds.
At 25k+ health and foritfy on top and paragon nodes for reducing DOT damage (which is good for both counter bleed and poison), people got good at countering what they could.
In S2 do you think Barb will be better against Rogue in terms of PVP? Since the rework of fortify and resistance
Barb is arguably already better than rogue pre S2. Look at some of the online tourneys results and more importantly how the fight plays out.
Rogue is basically relying on RNG procs to win, which means when they win the tourney it is somewhat like a coin flipper winning the flipping competition. I don’t mean to take away from the skill they have, but against a solid barb build with lots of defense either the rng came up in their favor or it didn’t. And on average it did not because the overall damage and defense of Barb build was superior.
Post patch, wow, Barb is going to be a tank in PvP. All the shouts boosting a much higher fortify, iron skin much higher fortify…the damage increases on key weapons and skills. Barb is probably 2-2.5 toucher and maybe .5x more damage.
I think we can still take them down, but subject to lots of testing, but it will be A LOT harder.
S2 barb wins because of the vampiric power that makes evade grant unstoppable for four seconds. No cooldown.
Nobody can be CC’ed. It’s who does the most damage in the shortest amount of time. Rogues May do more at times due to RNG, but barbs have WAY more life.
Poison damage for rogues was recently nerfed . There was a stealth nerf on the servers and poison damage can no longer be buffed by things like core damage and cutthroaat damage which really lowered the potency of poison damage rogues. I am sure the stealth nerfs are also noticable in other damage over time builds.
Not a nerf if it’s working as intended, this is a fix. They fixed the base damage for poison imbuement. Base damage should not include Core Skill Damage, All Damage, and Cutthroat Damage.
Vuln and Dex are base. Strange thing is, I do WAY more poison damage using Barrage than anything else? Why!? I have no cutthroat or marksmen additive damage.
These changes should have been posted in patch notes and they were not. When you make changes to a class that reduce its power without notifying the public that is called a “stealth nerf.”
Thank you.
To play devils advocate, I would say since it was multiple instead of additive it was just noticed and fixed without making an announcement.
It wasn’t fixed perhaps though, some say it isn’t even additive or included now…
They should have had notes only because they did when they fixed bursting venom procs.
The ulimate resist and invulnerability, no one in PVP, even the PVP’ers. Everyone too busy Duriel-ing.
Agree. Already testing with friends. What working and what not, the barbarians feels rly powered even more than s1. Cannot wait for tournaments already.
