It feels like we had such a good thing going in Season 5 with the level cap being removed and the exp being uncapped. Being able to play 20-30 monster levels above our actual level, allowing us to level faster with less effort. But no, that’s fun, players are not supposed to have fun, devs cant have that. So… lets COMPLETELY SCREW THINGS UP in version 2.0.
Let me explain upon this stroke of genius (not).
Now you are effectively locking people behind level restrictions again for certain difficulties. Something you undid in season 2 i think. Why bring this back again?
Why cant we go to penitent difficulty before we are level 50? What the heck? Why do we have to be level 60 to even just open the PIT? Aside from the fact we could do pits pre-100 before, it was also a decent option to level boost friends. I guess we dont get to do that anymore.
There are things i do enjoy though. Like the new equipment/potions/gems/sigil tabs. And the favorite town portal setting. You guys implemented that about 5 season late… Should have been part of the base game.
But as it plays now, without access to the new storyline, seasonal quests and no pit/hordes. The levelling experience is boring as bleep.
Im not even complaining about the fact you’re gonna make us wait 2 more days for the PTR level boost and the runeword system everyone wants to play with. But honestly… Thats also a really poo(r) decision.
Wonder what everyone else thinks…

Yeah, it never made sense to me why penitent difficulty is locked behind lvl 50. They said they didnt like that WT3 was just like a stop and go for a brief time. Then they added a difficulty that is only 10 levels long… so another stop and go for just a brief time.
IMO the difficulty should be unlocked from the start or at least lvl 10 or something. If people can handle the difficulty then they can handle it. If they cant then they can go back a tier.
Especially when playing alt twinks, this difficulty should be doable and give twinks a challenge. At least open it at 35 when you can wear mythics on alts.
This is a PTR so maybe with enough feedback this will changed.

You bring up a good point about mythics on lvl 35 for alts. I wonder if that remains the same with the level squish. 35 was about 1/3rd from level 100. So with the level squish, i wonder if it went down to level 20 or so… And yes… another good point… when we can wear mythics at a lower level, those level locks on difficulties is only going to make the difficulty feel even more trivial than it already is.
Just leave the difficulties and level restrictions as they currently are in Season 5. Just remove sacred items from the game and replace em with lower tier ancestral gear. That will fix all your problems and if you want to add higher difficulties for the endgame, add more difficulties like you intended with this PTR.

Being able to play 20-30 monster levels

it’s just bad game design and it’s been fixed in PTR. Character development and strength building is disturbed when everyone kills enemies 30 levels higher. Not for everyone low effort = fun. For me it’s exactly the opposite

Well at least they could have given us an option to craft higher difficulty nightmare sigils. Penitent difficulty with even a legacy character is super easy. I tried my S4 frozen orb sorc and i blew thru the content like it wasnt even there. But the exp reward was incredibly disappointing. 15% exp for a full clear dungeon on penitent… that means about 6.5 dungeons per level. totally 65 NMD’s on Penitent to get to level 60…

Seems almost geared towards a new player running the campaign and DLC zone from start to finish before being able to unlock those higher world tiers. While this works for a brand new day 1 player it does not work for those of us that have been around since launch. Level gating was always a bad idea.

I can’t even get it started. I cannot interact with the cheat vendor to even level up or anything.
cheat vendor becomes available on friday.

Why don’t we just remove all restrictions? Is there a reason why we can’t equip Ancestral at level 1. If we can handle it, why not?
Or why do I have to kill someone to get an Uber or max Mother’s Blessing if I can already do T8? Just give me the spark.
Edit: We should not just look at level restrictions and nit pick that. We should look at restrictions as a whole.
You get a lot of experience from Strongholds—they’ve really made them meaningful.
leveling is absolute trash, basically none-existence.

Raxx (streamer) just found an exploit to rush to level 60 in 20 minutes and 32 seconds. He’s reporting the exploit. Definitely not intended.
Penitent need to be unlock from the start!

Yes. It helped me a lot in leveling from 50 to 60. I hope it stays in S6
Bro, seriously. lol
If the D4 team had any common sense they would keep all difficulty tiers unlocked. With the only difference being the higher the difficulty the higher the challenge so people like you that want to lvl fast they NEED to put the F’ing effort. You know, 1+1=2.

zir didn’t think it was a good idea
I found a lot of fun that they increased the cap.
Penitent, Pit and Torment 1 all need to be unlockable before level 50 and 60
Please give us the option to challenge ourselves before level 60. Current difficulty progression during leveling is about as interesting as watching a boring tv series and falling asleep.
I don’t care - CAP THE XP GAIN, CAP THE ITEM DROPS, but please let me play the way I like. Don’t force me to get bored of the game faster than needs to be.
Current Penitent is already too easy on Sub level 35 rogue as I demonstrate in this post https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo4/comments/1f990nu/emulated_sub_35lvl_rogue_penitent_clear_remove/

I didn’t realise they did this… change it Immediately blizz. Having enough skill to progress quicker is exactly what seasons are about. Doing content early/underleveled or being carried by a friend should both be viable leveling options.
