Proposal: The "Infinite Prestige Journey" – A Fix for S12 Endgame & RNG

Proposal: The “Infinite Prestige Journey” – A Fix for S12 Endgame & RNG

The Problem: Season 12 currently feels “one and done.” Once the Season Journey is finished, players are left with bugged Obducite rates, layers of RNG for Mythics, and a “Pit 100” wall that can brick character progression.

The Solution: Make the Season Journey infinitely repeatable but tied to Torment Levels, focusing strictly on Seasonal Mechanics (The Butchery) to avoid “glass ceilings” like Pit pushing.

1. The Scaling Loop System

  • Torment-Locked Progression: Each Journey loop is tied to a specific Torment level. You must complete the T1 loop to unlock the T2 loop, and so on.

  • Fixed XP Cap: Seasonal XP requirements scale up until Torment 4, where it hits a fixed cap (e.g., 100,000 XP). This prevents an impossible “treadmill” and allows for efficient farming once a build is optimized. (Higher Torment levels come with higher butchery xp requirements)

  • The Butcher as a “Catalyst”: Defeating the Butcher provides a massive % bonus to Seasonal Journey XP. This bonus scales with Torment level, making him a high-value “bounty” rather than a random nuisance.

2. Tiered Rewards (Respecting Player Time)

Instead of pure RNG, the loops provide a predictable “Loot Calendar”:

  • Loop 1 (T1-T3): Standard rewards + Resplendent Sparks.

  • Loop 2 (T4): Double Resplendent Sparks or a Random Mythic Cache.

  • Loop 3 (T4+): Guaranteed 2+ GA Gear (including Mythics).

  • Higher Torment (T5-T6+): As new Tiers are added, the “floor” for rewards increases to 3+ or 4+ GA items with guaranteed Max Rolls.

3. Integrity & The “Win State”

  • Account Bound High-Tier Rewards: Rewards from T5+ loops are Account Bound. This prevents a RMT black market and ensures high-tier gear is a trophy of personal skill/effort.

  • Materials as Milestones: A dedicated Materials Cache (Obducite/Masterworking) is the second-to-last reward in every loop, ensuring players can actually upgrade the gear they win.

  • The Hall of Fame: A season-long leaderboard that tracks players who complete the final T6 journey. This is where Prestige Cosmetics (Auras, Titles) should live—not in the lower tiers.

Goal: Turn the Season Journey into a “career path” for your character where effort = guaranteed power, bypassing the frustration of bugged world drops.

Hopefully, the drop rates for Obducite and other items that, normally are plentiful, get patched or corrected in hotfixes, but some of that can be mitigated with this plan, until the fixes come.

PS, I posted this here because I cannot post in the console or PC discussions for whatever reason. Help with that would be appreciated so that I can post it in the appropriate space and maybe have a dev read it or reach out, though I doubt they care to hear from a scrub like yours truly

Thanks chat gpt for the info.
