Please remove tempering from the game completely

Tempering is like the horse. Looks cool on paper, but actual implementation is just *#&$ awful. My worst nightmare is having to use the mount to rush to a town to Temper something, or maybe worse having to Temper while riding that awful mount.

Simplest and easiest fix for this is just remove the bricking, remove that limitation of sorts. After X tries just make it like Masterworking, add in a cost to restart. There fixed. As for the mounts, just nuke them already and copy+paste D2 code for Teleport and replace mount with a mini Enigma your pet wears. There, problem #2 solved.

The previous system worked like this. I really wish they would go back to it.

What system? Loot 1.0 enchanting? It still exists.

They changed tempering?

Nope. Same 95% success rate to get what you want in completing a 3/5 base item. Same number of increased rolls per GA and scrolls of retempering are still guaranteed in IH armor chest.

I’m talking about the basic upgrade system that used to apply to all gear yellow and up. That was better.

Tempering sucks but its making them hit metrics so its here to stay.

Idk about that. Sucess rate is way to high to be a chase. Its always fun tho knowing someone swipped there credit card and didnt get the outcome they wanted, even tho its incredibly rare not to get what you want.

I wouldnt put it at incredibly rare. ITs rare esp with scroll but you can easily hit 1 to 3 bricks a season and that is having them hit metrics.

Idk about that metric. Between HC/SC i maybe roll suboptimal 1-3 items which is true but out of 2 dozen. Even now in S9 it doesnt matter because 2-3ga fall from the sky (efficiency matters).

For a system that was suppose to have some type of friction it really does fail to have any because success rate is to high. Lets not even get to the D3 base item itemization
