Please NERF power creep on PTR, do not turn D4 into D3

Well i mean not really because you can get a better rolled shako now. So yeah shakos are ok but a normal shako wont be as good as a 3tier legendary.

For 5 minutes, then I’m bored.
Play vampire survivors if you want to be a God, much better genre than ARPGs for that type of game play.

You getting bored isn’t to be confused with me getting bored.

2nd time I’ve said that here.

You go play Vampire Survivors, I’m already a god, just ask my dogs at feeding time.

Hurricane is hitting for multiple trillions you silly goose

And the game has been moving towards d3 since launch. The main people that complained and got people riled up were d3 content creators and people are sheep

Enjoy d3 2, its what y’all wanted

To be fair the wording is actually horrible. “Power Creep” at first glance to anyone who doesn’t know the term sounds like ever increasing power, as in you gradually become stronger or more powerful, not making previous systems/items obsolete. I don’t know who originally coined the phrase but it doesn’t match the definition at all in my opinion.

Hard to find something that rolls off the tongue though. Obsolete Creep doesn’t sound right. Antiquated Creep, Antiquated Power Systems, Antiquated Systems? I have no idea, but we need something new lol.

what, you dont nejoy spending 15 minutes on trash mob then doing a dungeon boss for 2 hours?

I couldnt agree more. There isnt a good phrase that could substitute the words “power creep” but its also not a new term. People were complaining about power creep with yugio cards 20ish years ago.

People also dont know how to use google-ie

I don’t mind if you can grind to the point of trivialising all content, but I wish the numbers didn’t go the way of the Iranian rial. It makes upgrades have no impact

It’s similar to a pay rise. If you earn 80kpy and get a raise to 85kpy it feels good. If you already make 800kpy, 850kpy is meh, because the numbers so big anyway

I would love to see the numbers change so my brain actually registers things as making a difference

Damage ranges in the 3-4 figure region that then crit/overpower etc in the 5 figure region would achieve this. Just adjust health numbers to align

It would FEEL less ridiculous, even if the end product is much the same (get good gear and face roll the lot)

The ultimate meta is find the broken/bugged interaction and exploit it because Blizzard won’t fix it. Every season has been the same, the top builds are whichever has the broken mechanic that clearly scales way past the normal range.

I understand they took a thrashing with the big nerf patch and don’t want to go down that path again, but if things keep getting broken then you still have to fix them, even if it’s after the season has started.

I completely agree. Power-creep kills game fun IMO. By the time I stopped playing D3, set bonuses were something like +10,000%, when they had started at +25%, and it just wasn’t fun to constantly rebuild for such ridiculous stats.

For those who reply being overpowered is fun: absolutely it is; but power-creep is not the same thing as being overpowered — power-creep is when Blizzard raises player power, then monster to compensate, then player power again, and then monster power to compensate again over and over and over.

I hope Blizzard avoids the D3 power-creep and just focuses on keeping things balanced, which is more fun in the long run.

Why turn it into D3 when it can become PoE! One click and the thole map evaporates!

Joke besides, we love power fantasy of property doled after a reasonable effort and suspense.

D3 is actually harder than this game. Try and run some 140+ grifts and see how good you are.

nothing about d3 is, or was “hard”

Bosses in general need a glow up. No class should be one shotting bosses or hitting them so fast that their life goes to zero in a fraction of a second. Trash mobs? Sure, have fun running them over, but bosses should take some amount of skill.

What’s the point of giving bosses phases and mechanics if everyone can completely ignore them and down them in less than a second?

Characters and items should be massively nerfed in D4.

This is so sad to see.
Game is breaking apart faster than even D3 did.

No it’s not, OP is right, this is bad for the game.

In truth, there’s two types of games as far as I can tell. There’s the screwing around with no real objective following your whims kind of game, like kids do when they pretend to be superman and imagine themselves flying around and punching holes through buildings. Then there’s the trying to overcome a challenge type games, like that same kid playing tag with his friends, either trying to evade the person who is it, or trying to catch the other kids while he is it.

There’s nothing wrong with being a follow your whims kind of game enjoyer, but ARPG’s are definitely challenge based games, and pinnacle content like uber bosses are literally meant to be challenging, you won’t see a single dev that disagrees with that statement, even though they might fail to make those challenges appropriately from time to time.

Basically, all making characters stupidly OP to such extents accomplishes is it speedruns challenge focused players into boredom and causes them to quit. That OPness might appeal to the follow your whims kind of players, but they can frankly accomplish that regardless by simply doing lower tier content if they really wanted to.

Why are you posting this here and not on the PTR forums?

Not that I disagree but it just seems like a better place to make your point.

There is a difference between being power and broken though. Feeling powerful is good, trivializing all content not so much IMO.

Being OP for most of the content is fun… not for all the content.
But that’s just my two cents and by no means should be taken as anything more than that.
