Balance issues, as you keep adding/stacking the things into the eternal realm it becomes a mess.
The whole point is seasonal themes are exclusive to seasons and its only available for limited time. Play something else if it feels too pressured. Seasons arent pushy at all. Proper pace can be set in seasons, dont need to rush.
As for things lasting forever, well nothing should last forever. You had the theme in seasons, you enjoyed the moment and get ready for next season. This is how seasons in this genre operates and shouldn’t change. There’s no reason to reset and start from grounds up if the theme can be played 3mths later on multiple lvl 100 characters.
Its the process of building each character that matters, not the end product.
So you think that adding higher world tiers will allow future boss mechanics and expansions to be balanced between those who have seasonal mechanics and those who don’t? I don’t understand your logic, care to explain in greater detail?
As it currently stands future none seasonal content is balanced on the eternal realm without seasonal stuff in mind. Otherwise if the devs designed boss mechanics etc around those who have seasonal content then none seasonal players could have a much harder time or find the content impossible to do, as defensive and offensive numbers would be greatly different.
If you don’t get it, considering this is really really basic IDK what to say. I don’t wanna be rude but I can’t really address this without calling attention to how there’s nothing to get if you think a little.
Blizzard will have to make a judgement call sooner or less. Sail the ship with players who only play Seasonal content and lose the rest of the players. Or, find a way for eternal realm to be meaningful to stay, which holds more playerbase.
No, your ideas are not well though out, they would be terrible for the game. You are not a game developer. Leave the game developing to the actual game developers.
Sigh, OK well, time to be a dick I guess.
How is this poorly thought out? How would this be bad for the game?
These are subjective opinions based on, per your comments a lack of thinking on your part.
I’m not here to hold ur hand, think a little if you want a discussion. Or get out and leave the people who are capable of that level of thought to their own devices.
Jesus.
hearts only go into certain sockets and you will have no way to use them once the season ends. Also they would need to extract the code to handle the hearts and move it into eternal code. As more and more seasons happen you would have more and more season specific code mixed into eternal. You think the game is buggy now…
It’s not poorly thought out. The concept is already there in D2 and it’s called Facets/jewels.
The pro-seasoners actually don’t give a damn about whether eternals get seasonal contents cascading. They won’t even play eternal realm anyway, so why does it matter? What they actually worry is that upcoming seasons will get affected if these season mechanics get stacked.
Every new season will have malignant heart jewels, thus the dev can’t power creep new fresh mechanics unless they incrementally extend NMD tier levels(like D3).
I know it’s not poorly thought out. That guy was just being weird…or drunk…or dumb…not sure which and don’t really care.
Plus it’s a request thread, not a demand thread.
Only thing I think would be neat is if seasonal content couldn’t be made in Eternal, you could only bring your existing seasonal content into Eternal as account bound items. That way it puts emphasis on doing seasonals to power up your eternal characters.
Disagree.
The malignant gems are incredibly OP (Barber lol) and introducing them into Eternal would mean having to balance the base game around the permanence of such gems. It would also be incredibly unfair for Eternal players as they do not have access to such gems. The power creep to “balance” player vs monster power would see greater inflation than what we already are seeing. For now if Blizzard makes a mistake on Seasonal Content they can simply let it run for a few months and remove this when it is over without impacting the base game.
Yes, it is poorly thought-out. You are requesting bringing in seasonal power to the eternal realm. A realm in which new players or players who don’t play seasons would be at a tremendous disadvantage. I don’t like that Diablo 4 has so much player interaction, i.e. world boss, and pvp zones, but it is what is is. As long as the devs keep pushing Diablo 4 into a MMO mode of playing, you simply cannot bring seasonal power back into a “vanilla” realm. It would be wholly unfair.
It would be like Blizzard allowing characters from WoW retail to bring their “Artifact Weapons” from the Legion expansion, back into a Classic WoW server.
That is a great question. Maybe you should not be doing seasonal content. Go back and play on eternal. Seasonal is temporary, it is right there in the name, there is a season, and the season ends.
Granted, in D3, some seasonal content was eventually ported to nonseason, at least in part, so complain away. You never know.
It’s a PvE game with a totally optional PvP element.
You gotta get off this crazy crabs in a bucket mentality you have going on.
Is it your first time playing an ARPG?
Seriously people
You fundamentally miss the point. You have critically missed the point. I have never seen someone so militantly decide not to use their critical thinking skills, if they even have them. Even your crabs in a bucket metaphor is so poorly misused.
You may not engage in PvP, but there are two zones in the game with their own reward structures. How fair do you think it would be for new players and players who do not access the seasons, to play in these zones against players who bring in OP seasonal mechanics?
“Gee, I know what is fair, I will bring all my seasonal power back into the eternal realm and just farm all the new players and players who didn’t play the season. You don’t agree with me? Crabs in a bucket! Crabs in a bucket!”
Take away my summoner necro being able to automatically raise my skeletons and I won’t play necromancer again.
I refuse.
This makes the build at least somewhat palatable.
And there it is. The troll attempt. Bye.
I believe Blizzard has heard from WoW players how much borrowed power is garbage and very much not liked.
This isn’t something they don’t already know how people feel about it. I just can’t believe it was the choice coming right out of the gate.
Why do people clamor onto digital assets?
It’s an ARPG. Who cares about the eternal realm? Once you’ve completed the season, go do something else until next season where you’ll start all over again.
Or don’t and play a season a year or 2 from now.
Seasons are great. Seasonal content should stay with the season.
