Players being banned for no reason

Too much reading, but again most people dont break the ToS and recieve the harshest of punishments for a first offense. Other than the Third-Party software bans, they are better at letting you know why you were banned. I.E. “Foul Language, Lewd Acts, Sexual Harrasment, and Exploiting.” But when it come to third-party? Silence…

They care otherwise they wouldn’t ban folks… the likelihood of a false positive when it comes to exploitive behavior is pretty low (not zero, but low enough you’d need decimal points to accurately describe the percentage). If you got banned, chances are better than good that your account was flagged by their internal systems… they don’t just ban based on the automated flag however… they investigate (as much as time allows anyway) to see what your log is reporting.

They don’t give reasons specifically to prevent the makers of apps or hacks from fixing the thing that got flagged. If you keep things vague, they can’t pinpoint what to fix.

This somewhat true but also untrue. Example, COD. Still riddled with cheaters, because the makers of these cheats are always looking for ways to imrpove their cheats from being detected. So regardless if joe was using (example software), who’s banned today others may not be banned tomorrow and so on. Plus its not like blizzard has to give out (example software) was detected because a line in its coding line 32- (insert code here)
this would help other players for making appeals. Like say for example, (example software) was detected and (example software) was Note pad++ or microsoft paint, the player would know thats a bull… ban. These are just example, but if I knew it was something stupid along those lines I wouldnt even appeal at that point and just uninstall the game and any other blizzard game in my library

People that makes cheats are usually looking for ways to make the cheats less detectable, yes. But that doesn’t mean that they know what’s getting detected and can instantly fix it. They know that the bans come in waves, so they prepare their next cheat tactic, and once a ban wave comes out they switch to their new tactic to see if that works, and the cycle continues… developing a new cheat, so that when the next ban waves comes out they can deploy the new thing.

They’ve not ‘evading’ the ban or trying to figure out how to avoid the ban, they’re just coming up with better ways to cheat that are different so that it doesn’t trigger the same thing.

But Blizzard among other companies likely watch the back channels that people use to communicate these new cheats and put detection tools in place just as quickly as they’re released, allowing them to ban them all in the next wave.

Just because there are still cheaters doesn’t mean they don’t keep getting banned.

They still aren’t going to tell you why you’re banned, for all the reasons mentioned before.

Yes, but in these ban waves, lets say using (example software) and recieve a ban for third party and its the only third party I have been using. Even if blizzard doesnt tell me it was (example software), I can still go to (example software) and say hey I was using this and was banned. That is also done in waves, so it wouldnt matter if I had been running (example) for 3 months before the wave hit. But at least I would know if it was a mistake on their end or my end. Not that I dont cheat, everybody has dabbled a bit in cheating. Mainly for me its in single player games, I did try ESP and Aimbots in COD, but only for a day to see what it was like and to gain some insight to other players running it daily and who I should report. Also wasnt banned for it. Just gave up on it because it was cancerous the amount of players I would run into tracing me through walls and such

“Banned for no reason”, “Banned for no reason”, “Banned for no reason”

cheeeaaaattterrsssss

I was the one testing and reporting dupes , cross realm xfer , gold dupe , a lot of testing. Not banned. you know why? Because I did not EXPLOIT the bugs/glitches. I found them and reported them and how to do them.
Don’t abuse bugs.
saying there is no reason for ban is not legit to me, you must have said something vulgar or exploited . I would contact there live chat during the middle of morning around 10am EST and ask them.

If you got banned, you probably know why you got banned.

If you truly are just banned for no reason, it is most likely because you got caught in the crossfire with the duping or exploiting and traded with one of them.

In either case coming here and complaining to use will not get you unbanned.

My best guess is there is a small minority of players who were playing unreal amounts of time of the game that triggered some threshold for botting. So in there eyes even though they can’t prove it was anything they suspect something was used to enable the playtime. Cause until i got banned i’d been basically non-stop since launch with only a small break just before season 1… probably more than most streamers. I mean it makes sense to me that playtime would be a metric used to try and catch botters.

If they can and can want. They can go there and check where I farmed each item I take, farmed at different times, in different places. That they look at my economy in the game and then tell me that I xploited in some local event spot or something similar. And deprive myself of the product I paid for because I used it for X hours? Where is this in the terms and conditions of use? This is crazy!!!

Honestly, I wonder what’s the ratio of banned people, that they have real reasons, compared to the mistaken ones

its probably something above 90% =o

The false positives for their detection software are rare (not impossible, just rare). If a person gets flagged and then recorded (yes, they can record your game session), and your account is banned… it isn’t likely they will overturn it.

You can blame blizzard or you want, but the bottom line is that if you don’t use third party software, blizzard’s detection software won’t catch you… and don’t think blizzard would lose sleep if you uninstall their games… once they have your money, they’re not really all that concerned about keeping you from throwing a tantrum.

EDIT TO ADD: While playing, I often have tons of open windows, from photoshop to text editors to logging software to spotify and multiple browsers windows open… have NEVER been flagged for suspicious behavior… mostly because I don’t use gaming cheats or overlays…

What I find amusing with these banned threads, are the stories.

So first, they for whatever reason have this need to share that they got banned, almost as if they want to obscure the truth. :astonished:
No “banned for no reason” thread was a simple line or two. Instead they were 29 paragraphs of details normally nobody would be able to recount.

This is followed by a detailed description of where they are in the game.

Then they also go on about some sort of tragedy or drama in their life. It’s as if, people who are emotionally burdened, are more likely to get banned. :open_mouth:

They then follow this word-salad up, by describing themselves as dedicated and loyal Blizzard fans, with a nasty hook on the end.

And they do this all while, they keep denying fault.
Something like this:

"I was playing, I wasn't doing anything wrong, but I sneezed and I got banned. I had two characters, one on Eternal and the other on Seasons. Neither of them are 100. I clearly didn't do anything wrong. One is 85 and the other is 32. I only have one unique, and 100K gold. I don't know why I got banned if I never broke the rules, my hamster has cancer and my mom won't turn on the heater during the Summer so I'm cold in this basement, everything in my life is falling apart. It makes no sense why you get banned for no reason, I thought Blizzard is a much better company, I even played every Blizzard's game and this game brings back childhood memories when I was still happy, but if they make mistakes like this, I will sue them, I really don't want to, but they are forcing my hand, I didn't do anything and I was banned for no reason. Can anyone help?"

Except theirs is usually longer and to see these types of post all the time. It just becomes really obvious.

They got banned, ok.
The only reason one would write about it, is if they’re trying to cover up their guilt.
Otherwise, they’d open a ticket right away and start sorting it out to avoid the false accusations of people in the forums instantly thinking they’re cheating. And even if they for whatever reason decide to share their punishment here, what’s with all the story-telling. Why can’t they just write: . “I got banned, I need help.” ?

Oh well, having seen this for other games too, it’s just lame.

If theres one thing blizzard is known for its exceptional customer service for sure… My first 4 tickets were auto-closed when i sent them into the diablo 4 team. had to send them into the diablo 3 team to even get a review. but i was still never told what i did. which is just scummy way to operate. I could think of a few other scummy things they’ve done but ill stick to the point.

Personally i came here to complain. It’s not like there is a lack of things to complain about with this game. Half the threads in here are complaints. Even if i don’t need to comment it’s still a form of entertainment for now.

Also that really isn’t the only reason people would right about it… if you were wrongfully banned you’d be pissed off and might take to whatever social media avenues you can to voice your displeasure.

“I was not banned and this post is just a complaint for other players” -ts

there may be reasons for you to complain here
but none of them make you look good.

This is part of the D4 experience.

Yeah, its called the process of Victimization ( Self )

And Demonization of entity ( Blizzard )

Its quite common behaviors in modern era, its a psychological behavior

While there is probably a few that got banned without legit reasons…

There’s so many more false claims of being innocent

Just for giggles, How many threads have been created saying, Yes I’ve duped, and i got banned… So far 0 =o

Do NOT attempt to bypass the AFK timer-- be it by scripts, macro or tape on the controller.

Finally, someone who can read lol.
