Patch notes look good sorta

I guess devs are fine with the immune phases of bosses, so that means chain running them doesnt feel like a good way to retain your sanity. Tributes still accumulate super quick. I will just be burning boss mats and tributes ASAP, regardless of tier.

Looks like they are trying to encourage diversity (they said 90% of spiritborns picked the same ultimate this season, and i doubt that number was much different from S7), so while some core mechanics got nerfed (overpower), it will make you ACTUALLY think ā€œis using this mechanic worthwhile?ā€ versus ā€œme (insert class with innate overpowers mechanics), me need Banished Lordsā€.

Dont listen to the :sob::baby:, give S9 a chance before you panic. They are giving NMDs some relevance, overall the change feels positive.

Can you say that on the forum? I think I will run with a necro in S9 I want to see what all of the mages can do.

I have entertained playing the minion version of an emo sorcerer for awhile now, might give it a try

Adam Fletcher said on X that they are looking into a solution for this.

I might have missed that part. Definitely doesnt need to exceed one immune phase. For andy, i can understand two phases, but wouldnt mind just putting all her mechanics into one phase (fire beam, shadow blasts, everything)

From the stream (Iggi notes).

How does that team currently feel about boss design in regards to Immunity Phases?

Invulnerable phase can feel like an unwanted obstacle, so we’re exploring ways to create that similar feeling without putting a hard stop in the fight.

For Season 8, I don’t think I played Necro at all…
Season 9, I don’t think so either… typically (as I find myself in skyrim) when I summon things, I love seeing them attack enemies while I stand behind a wall or Pillar and watch Gleefully (laughs like a Witch). - This is where I actually AM a cheerleader, pom pom’s and all.

I don’t want to be ā€œthe Tankā€ if I have a bunch of archers shootings enemies where ever, that’s counter to my mindset play style, LOL!

I’m still not a fan of the cartoonish way the summons look anyway. :frowning:

Ah i saw that part, but actual implementation? I will believe it when i see it

It’s much harder to change some one’s mind based off of what they’ve already seen or feel. I personally just focus on what I plan to do next season myself, and everyone else can do their own thing just as they’ve always done. If they don’t want to even give the season a chance, that’s on them, I’m not about to convince them otherwise.

I’m personally looking forward to the changes myself, and I really hope they change the bosses sooner rather than later. However I’m not holding my breath for it. I think overall the changes are good. Damage number changes don’t bother me that much if I’m being honest. As long as I can find a build that does decently well up to and including T4 I’m golden. I don’t need much more than that.

Ahh yes Mr. Iggi…

Should change your name to Chaotic Neutral :kissing_heart:

I think people will be fine! That always have in the end.

I just got paid, and I’m already looking forward to seeing what skins they have. I vaguely remember seeing some wings made out of chains or something?? Glowy greenish or something? That’s perfect for my Necromancer Looking Sorcerer!! Yaaass, I can’t wait!

Couldn’t disagree more - S9 is season of the fun police. They have doubled down on slowing us down and making us weaker. The only thing this game has going for it, is the abililtly to blast - if people wanted a slow grind we would all be playing druids. The fact that people choose the OP builds is because that is the game play people want.

S9 is a the dev saying, ā€˜we see how you like to play this game, but that’s not the way we want you to play it, so we will make play the game our way.’ It doubles down the bad decisions of S8 - This is The Season of the Fun police.

Season 9 looks fun and balanced to me. About time.

Your going against the popular trend of people hating the season before it starts…

Shame on you!

I didnt realize you were already playing the new season.

Didnt realize S-tier builds were removed this season. I probably didnt know because you are already playing the new season and im still waiting for it to release.

You act like a streamer wont have a build for you to play so you can clear pit 120s in under 2 mins by the end of the week. Quit crying, you will be fine

People are free to say what they want, it’s just always negative because the game has been a let down for most people that bought it. I know that’s hard to take for someone that probably has diablo figurines and bought a bunch of cosmetics, but the game is considered trash by many.

Did you see the campfire? It was hilariously bad. They are getting ripped in the comments.

Maybe it’s just me but I wasn’t encouraged by that. What I got from that is they are looking for ways to created an unwanted obstacle without it being a hard stop.

Definitely a lot of missteps, but being honest that they didnt know an answer was at least reassuring that they were gonna feed us some BS. We will still get fed BS, but i appreciate their honesty about their cluelessness.

And here you still are. You know, even if its negative, your presence here still contributes to the forums living on. In fact, you people who hate this game single-handedly keep these forums alive. As sparse as positive feedback is, if it was all we saw, we would see topics only once a week (maybe).

No such thing as bad press, as D4 has proven with hilariously bad seasons yet, still is retaining enough players to be considered a viable form of revenue. So thank you for being here and keeping D4 alive  :innocent:
