Patch Notes: 1.1.0a

Ya, yall are missing the text above the CDR section…

Cooldown Reduction affixes often felt mandatory due to their raw power. We imagine Cooldown Reduction will remain a highly desirable stat, but the penalty for not prioritizing it won’t be as harsh.

This is a nerf. As the above poster said, it reduced the amount of CDR you can benefit from.

so the way i read that is… it wont be as harsh since they lowered all the cool downs globally for everything by 30%?

so base of one ability was 10 seconds, now its only 7 seconds (giving you a free 3 seconds buff)

SMFH. blizzard kills their game 2 days before its first season. who tf is making these choices?

They massive nerf “defensive”, armor or othere sources, and they massive nerf “vulnerable”, ad off-set the vulneable nerf, with even lower buff on the addative part of the damage formel.

So they increased massive the grind factor of the game for the session.

Game was already like work, now they switch it even into direction “slave work”.

Are they crazy, that’s a ARPG, i want the “flow” of brainless monster slashing, not work.

The world boss actually took 2 min to kill this time so in that sense good jerb haven’t gone thru all the notes yet but it did drop a new barding(bone cage barding) as well so new cosmetics items were added it seems.

The wording is super confusing, but I think its reducing how much CDR items can have. So if an item had 10% CDR pre patch, post-patch it now has 7%. They didn’t change CDR globally, just reduced how much CDR items can have (If I understand their wording correctly)

No.

They are reducing the total amount of Cooldown Reduction you can get. If your ability has 10 seconds with current CDR, it might go to 13 seconds post patch because you cannot get enough CDR to bring it down to 10.

That’s an example. It is a straight nerf.

I’m afraid that isn’t what it does. If you are referring to this:

Cooldown Reduction: Reduced by ~30%.

That means the effectiveness of that affix is reduced by 30%. That means if a cooldown reduction previously gave you -1.0 seconds to your cooldown(s), it will now give -0.7 seconds. It’s a straight up nerf. Not sure where you saw cooldowns are reduced by 30% across the board. If you could show where you saw that it’d be appreciated.

What bothers me most about these notes is we’re losing a massive amount of armor and getting nothing in return. Resistances being fixed isn’t in the notes, doesn’t look like it’s going to be fixed anytime soon, so Blizzard’s giving us the illusion that not including that affix in our builds is “less harsh now”. It isn’t. That means that the +armor/+armor % is now more mandatory than ever just to eke out any sense of survivability.

I’m on a rogue and I haven’t seen this invulnerability everyone claims we have. I’ve died so many times to ridiculous things (including chain CC which isn’t being addressed in this patch, sadly) that losing even more survivability makes me not want to even bother anymore.

Instead of just nerfing the overpowered components of the game they’re doing that and destroying our survivability at the same time. Sorcerers just got a huge middle finger there since they were already at the bottom of the pack and this just broke their survivability even more.

So the worst Class becomes worse… RIP.

Why don’t you want me to play Barb. Why are they so trash. They needed massive redesigns and huge buffs.

Feels boring play d4 now… rogue are now more squishy and do less damage. And monster gives less …

Maybe if tone deaf blizzard read their own forums they would’ve implemented some GOOD changes. They cap monster level so you feel powerful yet nerf the hell out of damage multipliers. A net nerf for damage, 100%. And reduced survivability on top of it. Hire some developers actually interested in playing the game for some real insight into what needs fixing.

how can you throw away such a big chance at making a mediocre game with potential into a good game by turning it into even more of a slog and making everything that was good about it bad instead of making the stuff that was bad good…

blizz should really revert everthing they did with this patch, wait another month with the season and at least try to get it a bit right…

Whew…I was afraid the patch would tempt me to play the season.

I think this pretty much is the end of D4.
It was dieing before already and instead of reanimating it, blizz gave it a knee first drop kick to the chest

Thats not new, I got that ages ago. it’s like aqua/emerald color.

As the target audience* (40’s dad working full time), you just killed the game. It was a 7 out of 10 with major potential, but it’s now getting deleted after putting a few hours in tonight. I have officially wasted almost 300 hours of my life and will never buy another Blizzard product again. We waited a decade for this overpriced, overhyped dog poo to release. I feel so ripped off and despise what was once my favorite gaming company that at one time could do no wrong. You had so much time since D3 launched and years of mistakes to learn from to get this right, but still blew it. You tone deaf MF’s need to get the axe when Microsoft takes over. Maybe then I’ll revisit a Blizzard title….maybe :disappointed:

I like how they word that, “has been overperforming”. No it hasn’t, they somehow don’t have a clue about their own game or how it works. If it was overperforming, they should have found out by playing it for 10 minutes the moment they settled on the figures chosen for launch. “It” wasn’t overperforming, Blizzard underperformed.
