It’s not meaningless at all. It’s a S7 balance patch being sold to us as a midseason balance patch. But we all know that if the Spiritborn is left like it is, and Ancestrals are left like it is and the paragon XP curve is left like it is, then the token buffs to the other classes makes no sense as a midseason patch. They do make sense as the S7 balance patch, though.
The truth is, there really wasn’t much to S6 as it was really just the expansion, but that isn’t really a new thing, either. It’s not that the devs are lazy, it’s that this game has been screwed up so badly (and continues to be) that they have to continually use seasonal development time to fix the game. So instead of this live service, season based game getting the beefy sort of seasonal content other games get, we get patches that re-tread the same ground over and over again.
